To inform you about the National Civil Service Academy's 2019 Public Servant Book Review and Reading Promotion Competition. All colleagues are welcome to participate. If you are interested, please submit your work to the Human Resources Office by May 15, 2019, for review and submission to the Taoyuan City Government Human Resources Department.

Details:

1. In accordance with the Civil Service Academy's official letter dated January 9, 2019, No. 1080800005.

2. The original letter (including attachments) is attached as a copy.

3. The book review competition will use "One Book a Month and Recommended Classics of the Year" as the

designated reading list (a total of 14 books). The books are divided into "Public Policy and Management

Competencies," "Self-Development and Humanistic Care," and "Recommended Classics of the Year" categories for evaluation. Additionally, the Civil Service Academy has revised the "Public Servant Book Reading Promotion Activity

Plan" and the "Public Servant Book Review and Reading Promotion Competition Activity Regulations." The key revisions are as follows:

(1) This project plan:

1. Added the Bronze Award for the essay competition and adjusted the number of honorable mentions.

2. To uphold academic integrity, provisions have been added to disqualify participants found to have plagiarized, and to reclaim awards and prize money.

(2) This project's operating regulations:

1. To uphold academic integrity, regulations require proper citation of references.

2. To clarify the scoring criteria for outstanding participating agencies, an explanation of the scoring standards for the completeness of submitted materials has been added.

4. The Civil Service Academy has selected 14 books for the 2019 "One Book a Month" and "Recommended Classics of the Year" (designated reading list for the essay competition), and 12 additional recommended reading books.
