Taoyuan Municipal Taoyuan Junior High School Examination Rules         Revised on 115.05.13

I. To establish good examination order in our school and ensure fair examination for students, these rules are hereby established.

II. These rules apply to all examinations officially announced by the school.

III. Invigilators or examination staff may take timely and necessary measures against any situation that may disrupt examination order or hinder fairness in the execution of these regulations, or inspect any suspicious items. Students shall fully cooperate; otherwise, they will be subject to disciplinary action based on the severity of the offense.

IV. Preparations before the examination:

(I) Student drawers in the classroom must be cleared. No non-examination materials are allowed under chairs, in drawers, on desks, or under transparent desk mats.

(II) The use of tissues is limited to the size that can be carried by hand. All other non-examination materials must be placed in the schoolbag. Schoolbags should be neatly placed at the front (or back) of the classroom.

(III) Transparent desk mats must be free of any writing or examination materials.

(IV) All examination stationery must be prepared by the student and cannot be borrowed from others during the examination. Allowed stationery includes: black 2B pencils, erasers, black ink pens, correction fluid, correction tape, set squares, rulers, and compasses. Students taking mathematics examinations are not allowed to bring protractors or stationery with protractor functions.

(V) The class monitor shall write the examination time, subject, class size, number of attendees, and absent student numbers on the blackboard.

V. Rules to be followed during the examination:

(I) Students must enter the examination room at the designated time. Unless there is an emergency, illness, or necessary urgent physiological condition, no one is allowed to leave the examination room after the test begins. All papers will be collected uniformly at the end of the examination.

Latecomers will not be granted any extra examination time.

(II) The class, student number, and name must be clearly filled in on the answer sheet and the computer-readable answer card.

(III) Students must sit in their assigned seats and are not allowed to exchange or change seats arbitrarily.

(IV) Students must follow the instructions of the invigilator. Eating and drinking are prohibited, and no disruption to the examination order is allowed.

(V) After the examination papers are distributed, no questions will be answered unless there is a problem with the printing or omission of questions.

(VI) All answers must be written in black ink. If there is any dispute regarding answers written with other writing instruments, the decision of the subject teacher will be final and cannot be appealed.

(VII) For subjects with computer-graded answer sheets, answers must be marked with a 2B pencil. Corrections must be made by erasing the original mark completely with an eraser. Correction fluid (or tape) is not allowed. Marks on the answer card that are unclear, multiple answers, or smudged will be graded according to the computer's actual reading and cannot be appealed.

(VIII) Talking, looking around, or any act of cheating by attempting to transmit or receive information through writing, graphics, images, sound waves, audio, electronic signals, or other means of expression is strictly prohibited during the examination.

(IX) If a student feels unwell or encounters any other incident, they should raise their hand and wait for the invigilator's assistance. The invigilator will provide appropriate measures based on the severity of the situation.

(X) When the examination time ends, students must stop writing immediately and remain seated until the invigilator has collected all answer sheets (cards). Only after the collection is confirmed can students leave the classroom.

VI. Disciplinary actions for examination violations:

(I) For acts of cheating or serious violations, the score for that subject will be calculated as "0 points," and disciplinary action may be taken according to school regulations.

1. Peeking at another student's examination paper.

2. Bringing in or secretly looking at books and examination-related materials.

3. Leaving writing on the desk or stationery that is related to the examination content.

4. Cheating using any wireless communication device.

5. Deliberately making noise or reciting one's own answers.

6. Intentionally allowing one's examination paper to be viewed by others.

7. Exchanging or passing answers.

8. Impersonating or having someone else take the exam.

9. Talking or whispering to each other.

10. Arbitrarily exchanging seats.

11. Forcibly leaving the examination room before the end of the examination time.

12. Deliberately defacing the answer sheet (card).

13. Forcibly modifying answers after submitting the paper.

14. Entering the examination room more than 15 minutes after the start of the examination without valid reason.

15. Attempting to transmit or receive information through writing, graphics, images, sound waves, audio, electronic signals, or other means of expression.

(II) For general violations, points will be deducted or scores will not be counted based on the nature of the violation. If the original score for the subject was 0 points, it will remain 0 points.

1. If answers are not written on the answer sheet (card), that answer sheet or card will not be counted.

2. Regardless of whether it is intentional or negligent, if the answer sheet (card) is not submitted before the invigilator leaves the classroom, that answer sheet or card will not be counted.

3. For subjects graded by computer, if the answer card is not marked with a 2B pencil in the answer area, resulting in unreadable marks for grading, that answer card will not be counted.

4. If the basic information (including class, name, and student number) on the answer sheet (card) is incomplete, or if the basic information on the answer card is marked incorrectly, 5 points will be deducted from that answer sheet (card). If the answer sheet (card) violates both writing and basic information rules, deductions will not be duplicated. If the original score for the paper (card) was 0 points, it will remain 0 points.

5. For essay tests and non-multiple-choice answer sheets for all subjects, if black ink is not used for answers, the essay test score will be deducted by 1 grade level, and other subject scores will be deducted by 5 points.

6. Students who commit the following offenses will have their score for that subject deducted by "10 points." If the situation is serious and the student does not heed warnings, they may also be subject to school disciplinary action.

(1) Eating or drinking during the examination, including drinking water. Special circumstances may be permitted with the invigilator's approval.

(2) Mobile phones, watches, alarms, or other electronic devices ringing during the examination.

(3) Continuing to write after the end-of-examination bell has sounded and the invigilator has instructed to stop.

(4) Disrupting the examination order.

7. Students who commit the following offenses will have their score for that subject deducted by "5 points." If the situation is serious and the student does not heed warnings, they may also be subject to school disciplinary action.

(1) Borrowing stationery from others.

(2) Possessing non-examination materials (including items that hinder examination fairness) on their person (including on the desk, in drawers, or under the chair) during the examination, or carrying devices with transmission, communication, recording, photography, calculation functions, or that emit sound, such as wearable devices (e.g., smartwatches, smart bracelets), electronic dictionaries, calculators, mobile phones, and other computing and communication devices. Whether used or not, or whether they emit sound or not, if discovered by the invigilator.
