| Description: |
| I. | In accordance with the "Regulations on the Identification of Students with Disabilities and Giftedness," the "Regulations on the Adjustment of Admission Age and Study Duration for Special Education Students," and the "Key Points for the Implementation of Shortening the Study Duration for Gifted Students in Senior High Schools and Below in Taoyuan City." |
| II. | Schools shall establish a working group for gifted education in accordance with the "Key Points for the Implementation of Shortening the Study Duration for Gifted Students in Senior High Schools and Below in Taoyuan City," formulate an implementation plan for shortening the study duration for gifted students, and convene the Special Education Promotion Committee (hereinafter referred to as the "Committee") for review and approval, which shall serve as the basis for identification. |
| III. | The implementation process for shortening the study duration in this case is as follows: |
| (1) | Students, parents, guardians, homeroom teachers, or subject teachers may self-recommend or recommend students with outstanding academic performance in specific subjects to the school. After the student obtains the consent of their parents or guardians,October 25thsubmit an application to the school. The school shall complete the data collection by November 30th. Late applications will not be accepted. |
| (2) | Application for exemption from courses, acceleration in some subjects, or acceleration in all subjects: After review and approval by the school's Committee, the school shall submit the implementation plan for shortening the study duration for gifted students, the learning support plan, the minutes of the Committee meeting, and the identification data to the Bureau for record. The process will then proceed. |
| (3) | For any questions, please call extension 624, Giftedness Coordinator - Teacher Liu. Application for skipping some subjects or all subjects: After review and approval by the school's Committee, the school shall submit the implementation plan for shortening the study duration for gifted students, the learning support plan, the minutes of the Committee meeting, and the identification data to the Bureau. This will then be submitted to the City's Special Education Student Identification and Guidance Committee for review and approval, and then to the Bureau for final approval before implementation. |
