Description:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter Tai Shi (1) Zi No. 1080073220 dated June 14, 2019.
2. The aforementioned expo is the longest-running and grandest art annual event in Asia, listed as one of the top three expos in Asia. It is organized by the Chinese Art Galleries Association and will be celebrating its 26th anniversary. In 2019, it will be held from October 18 (Friday) to October 21 (Monday) at Taipei World Trade Center Hall 1, with an Art Education Day event on October 21 (Monday). The Ministry of Education will serve as the guiding body.
3. Art Education Day is open for group registrations from secondary schools. The Chinese Art Galleries Association will arrange pre-event educational courses and on-site guided tours. To encourage participation from schools of all levels and promote students' cultural experiences, the Ministry of Education will subsidize related expenses. The proposed principles are as follows:
(1) 500 discounted tickets will be provided, with a principle of dividing them between general schools (prioritizing art classes or vocational departments related to art and design) and remote schools. The organizer may allocate them based on actual registration numbers.
(2) Each discounted ticket is NT$250. Students only need to pay NT$100, with the remaining NT$150 subsidized by the Ministry of Education.
(3) Round-trip bus fares and insurance fees will be subsidized by the Ministry of Education.
(4) The association will produce teaching materials such as sketchbooks for on-site teaching, and the Ministry of Education will subsidize the material costs.
(5) Any additional expenses such as meal and accommodation fees may be covered by the applying unit within its self-raised funds.
4. To effectively manage ticket distribution, schools interested in registering should first contact the Chinese Art Galleries Association by phone to confirm ticket availability and pre-register. Then, submit the registration form via fax or email. Registrations without prior phone confirmation will not be accepted. Contact information is as follows:
(1) Contact Person: Ms. Hong Qianya, Chinese Art Galleries Association.
(2) Contact Phone: 02-2742-3968 ext. 19.
(3) Fax Number: 02-2742-2088.
(4) Email Address:enya@art-taipei.com
5. It is recommended that the expo content be suitable for students in the upper grades of elementary school and above. Students younger than that may be placed on a waiting list by the organizer. Please also refer to last year's expo content (http://art-taipei.com/2018/tw/) and assess whether it can effectively integrate with student learning before registering.http://art-taipei.com/2018/tw/, and evaluate whether it can effectively integrate with student learning before registering.
6. Information regarding financial subsidies will be sent in a separate letter to registered schools after registration is complete. Schools under the jurisdiction of municipalities and counties/cities will handle the funds through their local education authorities via a collect-and-pay method, and should contribute their share based on their financial level. Other private schools will be directly assisted by the Ministry of Education.
