I. An outbreak of pneumonia of unknown cause has recently occurred in Wuhan, mainland China. The pathogen has been preliminarily identified as a novel coronavirus, and there is still a risk of infection. Our country listed Wuhan's international travel advisory level as Level 1 on January 7.
II. To enhance the vigilance and awareness of faculty, staff, and students who will be traveling, visiting relatives, or engaging in academic exchanges in Wuhan or surrounding areas during the winter and spring festivals, please use multiple channels to strengthen the following correct epidemic prevention concepts:
(I) While in the local area:
1. Practice personal protective measures such as frequent handwashing with soap and wearing masks when coughing.
2. Avoid high-risk public places such as markets selling live animals or local medical institutions.
3. Avoid contact with live animals and animal carcasses.
4. Avoid consuming raw meat and raw eggs.
5. If flu-like symptoms (such as fever [≧38℃], cough, etc.) appear, wear a mask and seek medical attention as soon as possible.
(II) After returning to the country:
1. If you develop a fever or flu-like symptoms upon arrival in the country, actively inform airline staff and airport/port quarantine personnel.
2. If the above symptoms appear after returning home, call the epidemic prevention hotline 1922, wear a mask, and seek medical attention as soon as possible. When seeking medical attention, inform the doctor about your travel history, contact history, and symptoms.
3. Rest at home when sick, do not go out, and reduce or avoid contact with others.
4. When coughing or sneezing, cover your mouth and nose with a tissue or sleeve.
5. Continue to wear a mask if you have respiratory symptoms.
