| Instructions: |
| 1. | In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. TAI-CHIAO-KUO-ZI No. 1090146619A dated November 23, 2020. |
| 2. | We encourage all schools to actively recommend students who "can face adversity with resilience, demonstrate the positive aspects of human nature, strive for excellence, stand out, and serve as role models" to participate in the "2021 Presidential Education Award" selection. |
| 3. | The application information for this case is summarized as follows (details in the implementation plan): |
| (1) | Preliminary review recommendation period: From November 30, 2020, to December 31, 2020 (postmark as proof). |
| (2) | Application receiving units: |
| 1. | Senior high school group: Please complete the online application within the deadline (on the "Presidential Education Award" webpage of the National Dongshih Senior High School website http://www.tssh.cyc.edu.tw/project/presidential-education-award). Download the application materials (formats as detailed in Attachments 1 to 3) and 2 copies of supporting documents, and mail them directly to National Dongshih Senior High School (Address: No. 253, Daxiang Village, Puzi City, Chiayi County 61357) for the preliminary review. |
| 2. | Junior high school and elementary school groups: |
| (1) | Online application: Complete the online application within the deadline (on the "Presidential Education Award" webpage of the National Dongshih Senior High School website http://www.tssh.cyc.edu.tw/project/presidential-education-award). |
| (2) | Mail hard copy materials and CD: Please download the application materials (formats as detailed in Attachments 1 to 3) and 2 copies of supporting documents (organized in order and secured with a binder clip), along with 1 CD, and mail them directly to Ms. Huang Xiu-qing, Director of Academic Affairs at Ruiping Junior High School in Yangmei District (No. 535, Wenhua Street, Ruiping Village, Yangmei District, Taoyuan City 326). | 4. | Schools whose junior high and elementary school groups pass the preliminary review for this case are required to send representatives to attend the "Secondary Review Guidance Meeting." Systematic guidance strategies will be employed, with experts and scholars providing guidance. The meeting schedule will be announced separately. |
| 5. | To encourage students' positive character and to thank the teachers for their guidance, the recommended students and their mentors (guidance teachers) will receive the following awards: |
| (1) | Recommended students: |
| 1. | Senior high school students: For students recommended by senior high schools who do not pass the preliminary review by the Ministry of Education, the school shall award the student a commendation once. For students who pass the preliminary review, the bureau will present a commemorative plaque, and the school shall award the student a minor merit once. For students who pass the secondary review and are selected as "Presidential Education Award" winners, the school shall award a major merit once. |
| 2. | Junior high school students: For students recommended by junior high schools who do not pass the city's preliminary review, the school shall award the student a commendation once. For students who pass the city's preliminary review, the bureau will present a commemorative plaque, and the school shall award the student a minor merit once. For students who pass the secondary review and are selected as "Presidential Education Award" winners, the school shall award a major merit once. |
| 3. | Elementary school students: Schools shall award the participating students generously according to their authority as encouragement. For students who pass the city's preliminary review, the bureau will present a commemorative plaque. |
| (2) | Guidance teachers: In accordance with the "Regulations on Performance Evaluation of Principals of Public Senior High Schools and Below," "Regulations on Performance Evaluation of Teachers of Public Senior High Schools and Below," and "Taoyuan City Municipal Schools and Kindergartens Staff Reward and Punishment Points," the following awards are proposed: |
| 1. | Senior high school teachers: Mentors who recommend students for the Ministry of Education's preliminary review will be awarded a certificate of commendation. Mentors whose recommended students pass the Ministry of Education's preliminary review but do not win the "Presidential Education Award" will receive a commendation once. Mentors who guide students through the secondary review and win the "Presidential Education Award" will receive two commendations. After the event, schools should report the list of awardees to the bureau and process staff rewards according to relevant regulations. If the rewards involve principals or personnel, a letter of recommendation for rewards and punishments and WebHR should be submitted to the bureau's personnel office. For accounting personnel, a letter of recommendation for rewards and punishments should be submitted to the bureau's accounting office. |
