2022 Campus Tree Writing Competition

Subject: Forwarding the "2022 Campus Tree Essay Contest" brochure from the Ministry of Education. We encourage your school to actively participate. Please refer to the details below for your reference.
Details:  
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. Tai Jiao Zi (6) Zi Di 1112704084 dated November 24, 2022.
2. To implement the promotion of tree-loving education, with the theme "Sustainable Campus Starts with Loving Trees," integrating environmental education issues, participants will use images and text to elaborate on the characteristics, history, and stories of native trees on campus, as well as the school's tree-loving and tree-protecting actions. This aims to foster a campus atmosphere of loving trees and strengthen the connection between teachers, students, and campus trees, hence the organization of the aforementioned contest.
3. Key details of the aforementioned contest are as follows:
(1) Participants: Divided into elementary school group (grades 4-6), junior high school group, senior high school/vocational group, and teacher group (including elementary, junior high, and senior high/vocational). Student groups consist of 1 to 3 students forming a team, guided by 1 teacher. Teacher groups consist of 1 to 2 teachers forming a team. Teams cannot be formed across schools or have duplicate registrations. However, participating teachers can simultaneously serve as a mentor for a student team.
(2) Contest Format: The theme is native tree species on campus. Participants should submit up to 5 photos with a resolution of at least 1,600 pixels in width or height. They should use short essays, prose, poetry, or other forms to narrate the tree's story and introduce the school's tree-loving and tree-protecting actions. Text and images need to be arranged and designed.
(3) Judging Method: The Ministry of Education will assemble a judging panel for evaluation. For the elementary school group, junior high school group, senior high school/vocational group, and teacher group, the top 3 teams will be selected from each group, totaling 24 teams (4 first-place teams with a team prize of NT$15,000; 8 second-place teams with a team prize of NT$10,000; 12 third-place teams with a team prize of NT$5,000, distributed equally among team members as a principle; guidance teacher bonus for student teams is NT$2,000) and several honorable mentions. Certificates of merit and prizes will be awarded (honorable mentions will not receive prize money).
(4) The contest announcement is scheduled for November 2023. The submission deadline is February 28, 2024. Submissions will be accepted online. The list of winners is expected to be announced at the end of March 2024.
