| The "Climate Action and Human Rights" workshop will be held starting August 31 (Thursday). The event is free with limited spots. All personnel are invited to participate and respond to the 2050 net-zero emissions goal and the National Human Rights Action Plan. |
| Details: |
| I. | The Executive Yuan's major policy, "2050 Net-Zero Emissions Pathway and Strategy," sets four major transition goals: "Energy Transition," "Industrial Transition," "Lifestyle Transition," and "Societal Transition," supplemented by "Twelve Key Strategies" to formulate action plans in various important areas and achieve the net-zero transition goal. |
| II. | To avoid the impact of the net-zero transition on the existing economic structure and social distribution, and to actively create a fair and inclusive transition mechanism to support those negatively affected by the transition, "Just Transition" has been incorporated into the "Twelve Key Strategies" to ensure that the core value of "leaving no one behind" is implemented during the promotion of the net-zero transition. |
| III. | "Just Transition" is an important aspect of climate and human rights issues, dedicated to balancing policy goals, ensuring social equity, and including stakeholders to help create more comprehensive climate change policies. |
| IV. | To popularize the understanding of climate and human rights issues, the Environmental Protection Administration (EPA) of the Executive Yuan has commissioned our foundation to organize the "Climate Action and Human Rights" workshop. Government personnel, planners, and the public related to climate issues are invited to participate together to discuss, brainstorm, and practice how to integrate human rights into climate issues. |
| V. | The "Climate Action and Human Rights" workshop is divided into groups for residential/transportation, manufacturing/energy, and agriculture/environment. Through case studies, we hope to spark discussions on climate action, enhance communication, and facilitate peer experience sharing and discussion. |
| VI. | This event is free and provides lifelong learning hours for civil servants and environmental education certification. We sincerely invite all friends who care about this topic to participate and register enthusiastically to support the 2050 net-zero emissions policy and achieve the goals of the "Climate Change and Human Rights" chapter of the National Human Rights Action Plan. |
