The Department of Geography of our university will hold the "28th Taiwan Geographical International Conference" from May 4th to May 5th, 2024. We kindly request you to inform your affiliates and encourage them to register.

Description:  
I. Under the shadow of global climate change, extreme weather events are continuously unfolding across the world. This seminar, themed "Taiwan's Climate Change Research Achievements and Societal Responses: Risks, Impacts, and Resilience," aims to explore existing research findings and, under the climate risks they reveal, how different sectors can adapt to mitigate impacts and collaborate to build resilience, in pursuit of a sustainable Taiwanese society.
II. The seminar topics cover climate change science, environmental disasters and risk assessment, adaptation behaviors and technologies, clean energy and green inflation, net-zero emission challenges and industrial transformation, food security and resilient agriculture, environmental ethics and education, green living and humanities, resilient communities and sustainable societies, just transition, generational justice, and climate justice, climate change research achievements and indigenous community responses, as well as other geography-related sub-topics. The goal is to provide a platform for sharing knowledge and action effectiveness in climate change adaptation across various fields, and to enhance public support for climate action and teachers' pedagogical literacy by showcasing the latest knowledge and technological applications in geographical research.
III. Seminar information is as follows:
(1) Date: May 4, 2024, and May 5, 2024 (Saturday and Sunday).
(2) Location: The Cheng-Cheng Building, Heping Campus I of our university. (No. 162, Section 1, Heping East Road, Taipei City)
(3) Registration: Please complete your registration by Monday, April 8, 2024, at the conference website.
(4) Continuing Education Hours: Teacher professional development hours and lifelong learning hours for civil servants will be awarded based on actual attendance.
