19th Secondary School Talent Nurturing Program

Subject: To inform you about the "19th Secondary School Talent Cultivation Program" organized by National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University and the Chinese International Innovation Education Resources Exchange Association. Please be informed.
Explanation:  
I. Based on the letter from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University dated May 20, 113 (2024), reference number Yang Ming Jiao Da Gao Jiao Zi No. 1130021229.
II. To promote the concept of shared education in Taiwan and collaborate with high schools for online learning, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, through its ewants platform, integrates MOOCs from universities and partners with the Chinese International Innovation Education Resources Exchange Association website to launch the 19th Secondary School Talent Cultivation Program.
III. The details of the program are as follows:
(1) Program Objectives: To provide high school students with a learning pathway to expand and enhance their personal competencies and explore professional fields before entering university.
(2) Program Content: The 19th program includes (1) Physics and Science Talent Cultivation Program, (2) Humanities and Social Sciences Talent Cultivation Program, (3) Statistics Talent Cultivation Program, (4) Information Technology Talent Cultivation Program, (5) Psychology and Counseling Talent Cultivation Program, (6) Mathematics Talent Cultivation Program, (7) Programming Talent Cultivation Program, (8) Big Data Talent Cultivation Program, (9) Finance and Economics Talent Cultivation Program, (10) Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pharmacy Talent Cultivation Program.
(3) Learning Method: Online courses on the National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University ewants open education platform, online interactive sessions with professors, online assignments and quizzes, and a final in-person assessment. Upon completion and passing the assessment criteria for each program, a certificate of completion or a certificate of study from National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University will be awarded.
(4) Course Dates and Registration Period: June 2024 to August 2024. Please refer to the program website https://ewanths.nycu.edu.tw for detailed course descriptions. Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. The registration period is from now until June 23, 2024.
(5) Number of Participants and Registration Method: Each program will accept 50 participants on a first-come, first-served basis until capacity is reached. Students from low-income or low-middle-income families will have their review fees and course fees waived for each program (please provide proof of financial hardship, low-income, or low-middle-income status).
(6) School Group Registration: Teachers can initiate school group registration on the program website. After approval, students from that school will receive group registration discounts regardless of the number of participants, and the review fee will be waived. Individual Group Registration: Students can initiate individual group registration on the website. A group of five or more students will receive group registration discounts, and the review fee will be waived.
