Forwarding the brochure for the practical workshop on the control of biting midges (Forcipomyia taiwana) in metropolitan areas, organized by the National Museum of Natural Science.

| I. | In accordance with the National Museum of Natural Science's letter dated May 28, 113 (2024), Ref. No. 1130004846. |
| II. | The aforementioned activity aims to lead participants to understand the morphology, biology, and causes of occurrence of Taiwanese biting midges through a full-day workshop. It will also share the museum's control achievements for government agencies, communities, and schools to learn from. In addition to promoting environmentally friendly control methods, it also advocates for the concept and spirit of citizen science. |
| III. | Information regarding the workshop is summarized as follows: |
| (1) | Activity Time and Location: June 14, 113 (Friday), 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, National Museum of Natural Science (3D Theater B1) International Conference Hall Blue Hall, Second Science Classroom. |
| (2) | School-related management personnel and pest control practitioners (limited to 100 participants, with an application review system. Each unit is limited to 1-2 participants. Participants who register according to regulations and attend the entire session will be granted teacher professional development hours and lifelong learning certification hours for civil servants). |
| (3) | Activity Content: |
| 1. | Cultivate citizen science spirit integrated with daily life and inquiry-based practical activities, leading participants to understand Taiwanese biting midges and citizen science investigation methods. |
| 2. | Learn scientific research methods: Provide investigation tools for participants to conduct habitat surveys and record data using scientific methods. |
