National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University's July [Environmental Education] DIYGreen Circular Vermicomposting, Frame and Pot Type, and Tree Pot Seed Teacher Training Remote Class is now open for enrollment. All levels of school teachers (including kindergartens) are welcome to sign up.

Description:  
I. DIYGreen Zero-Waste Circular Urban Farm is developed by Professor Cheng-Chung Kao's team from the Graduate Institute of Environmental Engineering at our university to address Taiwan's numerous environmental issues. It is the world's first DIY zero-waste circular urban farm with recycled bottles as its base. It can create green spaces on corridors, balconies, rooftops, and flat ground for growing vegetables, fruits, and flowers, suitable for DIY by all age groups, from children to the elderly. DIYGreen is applicable to courses or workshops in environmental studies, nature, sustainability, practical application, food and agriculture, ecology, life skills, biology, home economics, inquiry and practical application, earth science, project creation, and clubs, meeting the practical needs of many curriculum courses. DIYGreen has been successfully applied in teaching cases at schools of all levels.
II. Date:
(1) Pot type and flower pot: July 10 (Wed) and July 13 (Sat) from 1:30 PM to 4:20 PM. (Content is the same, choose one to attend)
(2) Frame type: July 24 (Wed) and July 27 (Sat) from 1:30 PM to 4:20 PM. (Content is the same, choose one to attend)
(3) Worm composting: July 27 (Sat) from 9:00 AM to 11:50 AM.
III. Subsidized tuition for current teachers (including kindergarten teachers and community planners): 30% off. (1) $1,750 (original price $2,500), (2) $1,365 (original price $1,950), (3) $1,120 (original price $1,600). All are cheaper than directly purchasing kits. Subsidized spots are limited.
IV. Registration and payment can be completed on the website of our university's Extension Education Center: https://cec.nycu.edu.tw/Course/CourseList?ClassId=5171-2 (Contact person: Ms. Liu, 03-572-4045). After completing this training course, teachers can guide students in building DIYGreen farms on campus.
V. This course is eligible for applying for teacher professional development hours in "Environmental Education" (https://www3.inservice.edu.tw). Hours will be logged for participating teachers after the course concludes.
