Subject: Forwarding the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' notice regarding encouraging students in senior high schools and below to participate in the "LearnBar Overseas Safety Online Learning Promotion Activity" organized by the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Please be informed.
Details:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter dated August 29, 113 (2024), No. 1130099623.
2. Given that after the global pandemic, the frequency of Taiwanese people traveling abroad (for business, tourism, study, working holidays, etc.) is increasing, and to strengthen the promotion of correct overseas safety knowledge and how to seek assistance from our overseas missions in case of emergencies abroad, and to instill correct overseas safety concepts from an early age, the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, has commissioned the LearnBar online education platform to organize two online learning promotion activities on overseas safety for students in senior high schools and below. These activities will be held from August 26 to September 22, 113 (2024), and from October 28 to December 15, 113 (2024).
3. The aforementioned online learning activities integrate the content of two animated videos, "Pogo's Pineapple Island Adventure" and "Pogo's Snowy Adventure." Pogo, the mascot of the Bureau of Consular Affairs, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, will introduce various overseas safety tips and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' emergency assistance services. This will allow students to gradually understand pre-departure preparations, how to replace passports abroad, what to do in case of accidental medical treatment, and how to evacuate during major natural disasters. It also covers precautions for carrying items through customs in various countries and how to respond to pickpocketing or robbery incidents abroad. Students who watch the videos and answer questions online will absorb overseas safety knowledge.
4. To encourage students in senior high schools and below to complete the learning activities, the organizers will divide participants into three groups based on their respective school levels. In each group, 10 participants will be selected to receive a NT$500 welfare gift voucher, and another 10 will receive a Pogo toiletry bag. Additionally, one winner will be drawn from all participants in both sessions to receive a Samsung SM-P613 tablet computer.
