| I. | In accordance with the letter No. 11430000020 from the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection (BSMI) of the Ministry of Economic Affairs, dated January 20, 114. |
| II. | Recent reports from mainland Chinese media have highlighted safety concerns regarding "exploding hand grenade" prank toys. Upon investigation, the product in question is a prank toy, which falls under the scope of toys requiring inspection as announced by the BSMI. It must be inspected by the BSMI and comply with regulations such as CNS4797-3 before import and before leaving the factory, and must bear the commodity inspection mark before it can be sold in the domestic market. |
| III. | During the inspection of imported products of the aforementioned type in 113, the BSMI found that the noise generated did not comply with the aforementioned regulations. Import was prohibited, and due to the potential for small fragments to be ejected, there is a risk of harm if used against people (e.g., eyes). We kindly request that your school inform its teachers and students to choose toys that bear the commodity inspection mark, and to avoid using "exploding hand grenade" prank toys to prevent harm. |
