| 1. | The Ministry of Agriculture has announced that Taiwan officially submitted its application for self-declaration as an African Swine Fever (ASF)-free zone to the World Organisation for Animal Health (WOAH) on February 21, 115. This case is handled in accordance with WOAH's normative procedures, indicating that Taiwan's ASF prevention and control system has stabilized, its monitoring evidence is complete, and it possesses the technical conditions to regain its non-epidemic status. |
| 2. | The African Swine Fever epidemic remains severe internationally, and epidemic prevention efforts cannot be relaxed. Please inform the faculty, staff, and students of your schools (kindergartens) not to carry animal and plant quarantine items when entering the country. Please also inform your relatives and friends abroad not to mail pork products or other animal quarantine items to Taiwan to avoid penalties. |
| 3. | If pork products from countries (regions) that have experienced African Swine Fever in the last three years are illegally carried into the country and discovered, a fine of NT$200,000 will be imposed for the first offense, and a fine of NT$1,000,000 will be imposed for the second offense. |
