The Dragon Boat Festival holiday and summer vacation are approaching. To ensure student safety, parents are urged to pay close attention to their children's whereabouts during holidays to prevent drowning incidents..
| I. | Recently, with hot weather, the rainy season, and strong afternoon downpours, the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, graduation season, and summer vacation are peak periods for water accidents. All teachers and students should not underestimate any potential dangers. |
| II. | Water Safety Precautions: |
| (1) | Choose safe locations: Swim in swimming pools that meet standards and have qualified lifeguards, or in legal water bodies. Never go to wild streams, rivers, irrigation channels, ponds, or designated dangerous waters. |
| (2) | Pay attention to environmental conditions: Always monitor weather changes. If there are heavy rains, typhoons, or abnormal water currents, stop activities immediately. |
| (3) | Go in groups and help each other: When swimming or engaging in water activities, always go with companions, keep an eye on each other, and inform parents of the location and time of the activity in advance. |
| (4) | Wear appropriate gear: When swimming, do not wear clothes that easily absorb water and become heavy (e.g., jeans). When engaging in activities such as canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding (SUP), or snorkeling, wear safety equipment such as a life jacket correctly. |
| III. | If teachers or students encounter a drowning incident while traveling, call the emergency contact number for drowning prevention first. Do not rush into the water rashly: |
| (1) | Fire and Rescue Hotline (Inland Waters): 119. |
| (2) | Coast Guard Service Hotline (Coastal Waters): 118. |
| (3) | Police Report Hotline: 110. |
| (4) | Mobile Phone Emergency Assistance Hotline: 112. |
| IV. | This year, we have launched a comic strip promoting the "Ten Drowning Prevention Tips." Please download and use it from the "Water Safety Zone" on the official website of this bureau (https://www.tyc.edu.tw/) or access it via Google Drive (https://reurl.cc/189QDG). Please record the promotion activities of your school and upload them to the "114 Academic Year Campus Sports Promotion Effectiveness Survey" (formerly the School Sports Statistical Yearbook). Please also send the promotional photos to the organizer's email address (10041858@ms.tyc.edu.tw). |
| V. | Parents are urged to fulfill their care and companionship responsibilities, pay close attention to their children's whereabouts and daily routines during holidays, encourage them to participate in legitimate recreational activities, reduce the risk of accidents, and ensure students have a safe and happy holiday. |
