| Subject: | Please continue to implement dengue fever and other mosquito-borne infectious disease prevention measures during the summer vacation, and enhance the epidemic prevention knowledge of faculty, staff, and students. Details are as follows. Please be informed. |
| Details: |
| 1. | In accordance with the letter from the Ministry of Education, Department of Secondary Education, No. 1150055726, dated June 17, 115. |
| 2. | Currently, it is the dengue fever epidemic season with frequent rainfall. According to the press release from the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Centers for Disease Control, dated May 26, 115, dengue fever mosquitoes seek water sources to lay eggs after feeding. To interrupt the breeding of larvae, please continue to strengthen the removal of standing water containers and implement the following campus dengue fever prevention measures: |
| (1) | Before the summer vacation, please use various channels to remind faculty, staff, and students to take mosquito repellent measures when traveling to or participating in activities in dengue fever/chikungunya endemic areas, or joining overseas volunteer groups. This includes wearing light-colored long-sleeved clothing and using government-approved mosquito repellents. Additionally, those returning to Taiwan from endemic areas should monitor their health for 14 days (incubation period). If symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle or joint pain, or rash appear, seek medical attention promptly and inform the doctor about your travel history. |
| (2) | Manage the health of faculty, staff, and students. If suspected symptoms appear, assist them in seeking medical attention promptly and implement reporting procedures (to the local health unit and the Ministry of Education's Campus Safety Center). Additionally, establish a health monitoring and reporting mechanism to keep track of the health status of faculty, staff, and students. |
| (3) | Complete campus environmental management (reduction of containers and elimination of breeding grounds) and record keeping. Please plan in advance for responsible areas and available manpower before the summer vacation. During the summer vacation, conduct inspections at least once a week, checking indoor and outdoor areas and containers prone to dengue mosquito breeding. Implement the "inspect, pour, clear, scrub" cleaning steps, and strengthen efforts to clear standing water within 48 hours after rain. |
| (4) | Strengthen the monitoring and prevention efforts for listed high-risk areas (such as vacant houses and land, construction sites, recycling areas, and locations with difficult-to-clear standing water/previously found positive breeding grounds). |
| 3. | For information related to dengue fever prevention and control, please visit the official website of the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Centers for Disease Control (http://www.cdc.gov.tw) for browsing or downloading.
