| Subject: | To inform you about the trial teaching activity application guidelines for the Ministry of Environment's "Live Food Saving Action Course" in schools. Please encourage teachers to actively register. Thank you for your attention. |
| Description: |
| 1. | In accordance with the letter from the Ministry of Education, Department of Secondary Education, No. 1150062496, dated July 10, 115. |
| 2. | To promote the concept of net-zero green living and resource recycling, and to advocate the spirit of "source reduction" in food saving, the Ministry of Environment has commissioned the RE-THINK Environmental Education Association to design a campus food saving environmental education promotion course. The aim is to translate policies into concrete actions in schools. |
| 3. | The course is centered around "life cycle thinking," integrating environmental education with daily life situations to guide students in understanding the journey of food from production to waste. In line with Taiwan's food waste transformation policy, interactive teaching will help students identify surplus food and kitchen waste, cultivate concepts of source reduction and rational consumption, and translate sustainable eating into daily actions. |
| 4. | Additionally, four teacher training workshops will be organized to equip teachers with core concepts such as life cycle thinking, classification of surplus food and kitchen waste, and rational consumption, enabling them to promote food saving education in their schools and implement environmental sustainability literacy. |
| 5. | Participants: |
| (1) | Campus Trial Teaching (26 sessions): Students in grades 5 and 6 of public and private elementary schools, and grades 7 to 9 of public and private junior high schools nationwide. Applications should be submitted by current teachers "on a class basis." |
| (2) | Teacher Training Workshops (4 sessions): Primarily for current teachers of grades 5 and 6 of public and private elementary schools, and grades 7 to 9 of public and private junior high schools nationwide.
