| Subject: | Please continue to implement dengue fever and other mosquito-borne infectious disease prevention and control measures during the summer vacation, and strengthen the epidemic prevention knowledge of faculty, staff, and students. Details are as follows. Please be informed. |
| Details: |
| 1. | In accordance with the letter from the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, No. 1150055726, dated June 17, 115. |
| 2. | Currently, it is the dengue fever epidemic season with frequent rainfall. According to the press release from the Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare, dated May 26, 115, dengue fever vectors need to find water sources to lay eggs after biting. To prevent the breeding of larvae, please continue to strengthen the removal of standing water containers and implement the following campus dengue fever prevention and control measures: |
| (1) | Before the summer vacation, please use various channels to remind faculty, staff, and students that when traveling to or participating in activities in dengue fever/chikungunya virus epidemic areas, or participating in overseas volunteer groups, they should take mosquito repellent measures, including wearing light-colored long-sleeved clothing and using government-approved mosquito repellent. In addition, those who return to Taiwan from epidemic areas should monitor their health for 14 days (incubation period). If they experience symptoms such as fever, headache, retro-orbital pain, muscle and joint pain, or rash, they should seek medical attention as soon as possible and inform the doctor of their travel history. |
| (2) | Provide health management for faculty, staff, and students. If they have suspected symptoms, please assist them in seeking medical attention as soon as possible and implement reporting procedures (to the local health unit and the Ministry of Education's School Safety Center). In addition, a health monitoring and reporting mechanism can be established to facilitate the tracking of the health status of faculty, staff, and students. |
| (3) | Complete campus environmental management (reducing containers and eliminating breeding grounds) and keep records. Please plan the responsible areas and available manpower before the summer vacation. During the summer vacation, please inspect at least once a week, check indoor and outdoor areas and containers where dengue fever mosquitoes are prone to breed, implement the "inspect, pour, clear, scrub" cleaning steps, and strengthen efforts to clear standing water within 48 hours after rain. |
| (4) | Please strengthen the management, inspection, and prevention of high-risk areas (such as vacant houses and land, construction sites, recycling areas, and places where standing water is difficult to remove/where positive breeding sources have been found). |
| 3. | For information related to dengue fever prevention and control, please visit the official website of the Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare (http://www.cdc.gov.tw) for browsing or downloading. Alternatively, you can call the toll-free epidemic prevention hotline 1922 (or 0800-001922) for inquiries. |
