Taoyuan County Regulations for the Implementation of Tuition Subsidies for Specific Students in Public and Private Elementary and Junior High Schools[Related Websites]

I. Purpose:

To subsidize the educational expenses of specific students in this county who are disadvantaged due to economic reasons, in order to achieve the ideal of equal educational opportunities.

II. Eligibility for Subsidy:

Students who are registered residents of this county and are enrolled in public or private elementary or junior high schools within the jurisdiction of this county, and meet one of the following qualifications:

1. Students from low-income households as registered by social welfare agencies.

2. Students experiencing major family changes.

3. Students from impoverished families, who are recognized by their homeroom teacher as needing assistance with their educational expenses.

III. Subsidy Items and Standards:

1. Book fees: Full subsidy.

2. Fees collected and handled by the school (including miscellaneous fees such as stationery, uniforms, and transportation):

IV. Source of Funds: Funds shall be allocated from the annual budget of this county government. Any insufficient amount shall be supplemented by additional budget appropriations.

V. Application Procedure:

1. Students who meet the eligibility criteria for application shall, within two weeks after the start of the semester, complete the application form (Appendix I) and submit it to the school for review, along with the required supporting documents or the homeroom teacher's comments.

2. The school shall establish a review committee responsible for reviewing the identity and circumstances of the subsidized students (committee members shall include the principal, directors, representatives of administrative staff, teacher representatives, and parent representatives, and shall be convened by the Director of Academic Affairs).

3. The school shall compile a list of eligible students for subsidy in order of their grade (from lowest to highest) (Appendices II and III). The original copy shall be kept by the school for record-keeping, and a copy shall be submitted to the county government for approval within the prescribed period (the copy shall be marked "Conforms to the original" and stamped with the seal of the responsible staff member). VI. In case of forgery or impersonation when applying for this subsidy, if confirmed to be true, in addition to the recovery of the subsidy already received, all related subsidies shall be permanently suspended.

VII. For students who meet the eligibility criteria in Article II and possess a disability certificate, the subsidy for book fees shall be handled in accordance with the "Taoyuan County Regulations for the Implementation of Textbook Subsidies for Students with Disabilities in the Compulsory Education Stage" and shall not be claimed repeatedly.

VIII. These implementation regulations shall take effect upon approval by the County Magistrate, and amendments shall be handled in the same manner.
