2019 Survey on Internet and Online Game Usage Habits of Children and Adolescents

1. In accordance with the letter No. 1080000025 from the Taipei Computer Association dated January 11, 2019.
2. To promote protective measures against internet addiction and excessive game spending among children and adolescents, the Industrial Development Bureau of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and the National Communications Commission have commissioned the school to conduct a survey on the internet and online game behavior of children and adolescents on the "iWIN Internet Content Protection Agency" platform.
3. Please register for the survey by visiting the registration website: https://bit.ly/2Aqcyd4 before February 28, 2019. Your active participation will allow the competent authorities to expand their understanding of children's and adolescents' internet habits, and subsequently develop and promote relevant child protection measures. Participants will also be entered into a lucky draw.

Executive Yuan National Information and Communication Security Task Force Notification: "Adobe Acrobat and Reader Program Vulnerabilities" Incident

1. In accordance with the notification from the Executive Yuan National Information and Communication Security Task Force (Incident Number: NCCST-ANA-2019-0003).
2. The aforementioned incident involves use-after-free and security bypass vulnerabilities in Adobe Acrobat and Reader. Attackers can exploit these vulnerabilities by tricking users into clicking links or opening files containing malicious code, leading to remote code execution or privilege escalation attacks.
3. Recommended measures for this case are as follows:
(1) For Windows and MAC platforms, please update to the following versions:
1. Continuous track version: Update to version 2019.010.20069 or later.
2. Classic 2017 versions: Update to version 2017.011.30113 or later.
3. Classic 2015 versions: Update to version 2015.006.30464 or later.

"2019 Taoyuan City Indigenous Disadvantaged Families Information Equipment Subsidy"

1. In accordance with the "Taoyuan City Indigenous Disadvantaged Families Information Equipment Subsidy Guidelines."
2. Eligible recipients are low-income or middle-low-income households registered in this city who meet the following criteria:
(1) The applicant must be of indigenous status. This does not apply if the applicant is solely supporting minor indigenous children.
(2) At least one person in the household is a student from elementary school to university.
3. For the purpose of this subsidy, an "applicant" refers to a person aged 20 or above, who is a member of a low-income or middle-low-income household registered in this city, has resided in this city continuously for at least 1 year calculated backward from the application date, and has resided in Taiwan for a total of 183 days or more in the past year.
4. Application period: From January 10, 2019, to November 30, 2019. Applications will be reviewed and approved on a first-come, first-served basis. Applications will be closed once the annual budget is exhausted.
5. Application location: Apply at the district office of the applicant's household registration.
6. The subsidy amount will be based on the actual purchase cost, not exceeding the following amounts:
(1) Low-income households: NT$15,000.
(2) Middle-low-income households: NT$12,000.
7. The subsidized information equipment items include:
(1) Computer host and display devices (including tablets and laptops).
(2) Computer software.
(3) Other computer peripheral hardware.
8. The subsidy guidelines and related application forms can be downloaded from the "Latest News" section of the Bureau's website (http://ipb.tycg.gov.tw/).

National Taiwan Normal University is organizing the "2018 Academic Year Urban-Rural Student STEAM-Makers Co-creation Competition"

1. In accordance with the letter No. 1081000351 from the Department of Industrial Technology Education, National Taiwan Normal University, dated January 4, 2019.
2. Key information about the aforementioned event is as follows:
(1) Target participants:
1. Team formation: Each team must consist of students from both urban and rural areas, with urban students not exceeding half of the team members.
2. Number of participants: Elementary school teams should have 5-6 members; junior high school teams should have 3-4 members.
3. Mentors: Each team must have a school teacher (or parent) as a mentor. Each team should have two mentors, one from an urban school and one from a rural school.
4. Each county and city education bureau (department) can nominate up to 7 teams (including 2 reserve teams) to participate.
(2) Competition date and location: Saturday, March 16, 2019, at the Chung Cheng Hall, Gongguan Campus, National Taiwan Normal University (No. 88, Section 4, Tingzhou Road, Wenshan District, Taipei City 116).
(3) Registration method: Participating teams must be nominated by the county or city government. Schools interested in participating should mail the signed registration form to the designated contact person in the Bureau of Information and Technology Education by Friday, January 25, 2019, and also send an electronic copy to cloudsinging@ms.tyc.edu.tw for review. The nominated schools will be notified to register online after the Bureau's announcement.
(4) Important notes: Students are required to wear their school uniforms on the day of the competition.

"2018 Taoyuan Hakka Innovative Proposal Competition"

1. To encourage the public to use their creativity to propose innovative solutions for "Hakka language inheritance," "Hakka arts and cultural festivals," "Hakka cultural industries," and "Hakka living environment" in this city, and to enhance public participation in government policy planning. Innovative ideas will be compiled as a reference for promoting Hakka culture in this city. This competition is hereby established. The official website is: https://ppt.cc/fFstAx.
2. Participants in this competition must be 16 years of age or older. Please inform faculty and staff to actively participate, and assist in publicizing the event through the official website and scrolling banners.


Taipei City Government Department of Education is organizing the "2019 Taipei Cool English Cloud Picture Book Creation Call for Submissions Project"

1. In accordance with the letter No. 10830027392 from the Taipei City Government Department of Education, dated January 10, 2019.
2. Key points of the aforementioned call for submissions project are summarized as follows:
(1) Intent form deadline: Fill out the online intent form before Wednesday, February 27, 2019. Website: https://ppt.cc/fvXt3x.
(2) Picture book submission deadline: Wednesday, May 15, 2019.
1. Physical picture books should be mailed to the Taipei Digital Learning Center, address: No. 101, Section 4, Bade Road, Songshan District, Taipei City 105. The postmark will be the basis for submission.
2. Electronic picture books can be sent via email and require a phone confirmation to complete the submission.
(3) Eligibility: Students in the first three years of public and private elementary, junior high, senior high, and vocational schools in this city. Picture books created with the guidance of teachers are eligible.
(4) Awards: Selected picture books will be digitally published and made available for users to read on the Taipei Cool English Cloud.
