We kindly request your school to encourage teachers and students to listen and actively participate. Please acknowledge receipt.
Explanation:
1. In accordance with the letter from the Ministry of Education's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education (hereinafter referred to as the "Department") dated August 30, 108 (2019), No. 1080094485.
2. The Department is committed to promoting English learning beyond the confines of classrooms and textbooks, connecting it with real-life English usage scenarios. It hopes to enhance the international perspective and multicultural professional knowledge of our elementary and junior high school students. By leveraging the immediacy of radio news, we aim to increase students' awareness of current events and their opportunities to connect with the international community. Therefore, Taipei International Community Radio (ICRT) has been commissioned to organize the "English Broadcasting Interactive Learning Program" for the 108 academic year.
3. The program details are as follows:
(1) News English Learning Radio Program: This program produces English learning radio content for junior and elementary schools, focusing on major domestic and international news and current events. It will be broadcast during lunchtime on school days (elementary school: 12:15 PM to 12:20 PM; junior high school: 12:20 PM to 12:28 PM) via the ICRT radio platform (https://www.icrt.com.tw/app/news-lunchbox/) and the Ministry of Education's Cool English online learning platform (http://www.coolenglish.edu.tw/).
(2) Digitalization of Broadcast Content: To encourage independent student learning and facilitate classroom use by teachers, on-demand listening services and transcripts of each broadcast episode will be provided on the radio platform.
(3) Interactive Learning Mechanism: To increase opportunities for two-way communication in learning and continuously strengthen students' English learning motivation, an online and on-site interactive learning mechanism for the radio program has been designed. Each week, a discussion topic will be announced, inviting students to record a personal English opinion of no more than 30 seconds. After submitting the audio recording to the radio station, it will be broadcast on the program. Schools that actively participate will have the chance to invite the program's news anchors to visit their school for in-depth interaction with students.
4. Please tune in punctually during lunchtime on school days and encourage teachers and students to actively participate in related activities.
