Description:
I. In accordance with the letter No. 1090000857 from the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, dated January 6, 2020.
II. The Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, in collaboration with the National Education Radio, has planned and produced a series of children's radio programs for learning seven new immigrant languages: "Easy to Learn Malay," "Speak Burmese Without Worry," "Filipino is Fun to Learn," "Cambodian Made Easy to Learn, Easy to Speak," "Speaking Indonesian is Cool!," "Thai is Fun to Learn, Fun to Enjoy," and "Easy to Learn Vietnamese." The aim is to encourage parents and children to learn together through radio listening, enhancing new immigrant children's understanding and respect for their mothers' native cultures. Hosted by native language teachers and second-generation students, the programs feature lively and engaging situational conversations with standard pronunciation and clear tones, along with introductions to various cultures, thereby realizing the vision of "achieving every child" and the goal of "respecting multiculturalism," and ultimately enhancing national competitiveness.
III. Starting from January 14, 2020 (Tuesday), coinciding with the elementary school morning reading time, the programs will be broadcast weekly from Monday to Friday, 7:20 AM to 7:30 AM, on the National Broadcasting Channel of the Education Radio. The programs are designed with students as the learning subjects, featuring thematic content, engaging stories, conversations, and songs, adapted from new immigrant language learning materials for radio. This allows listeners to understand the languages and cultures of new immigrant countries through lively and engaging programs, and to enjoy learning the native languages and cultures of new immigrants.
IV. If you are unable to listen at the scheduled time on the broadcast day, you can listen on-demand on the official website of the National Education Radio at https://channelplus.ner.gov.tw/community. After the entire series has been broadcast, it will be fully archived and available for on-demand listening in the language learning section of the National Education Radio Channel+ website at http://newchannel.ner.gov.tw/.
V. Attached are one copy each of the program DM and the broadcast schedule.
