Description:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter No. 1090053109 dated May 22, 2020.
2. To enhance the professional teaching capabilities of junior and elementary school English teachers, the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education has commissioned National Taiwan Normal University to organize the aforementioned workshop. The workshop will be conducted in English. The introductory course will cover topics such as task/project-based learning, differentiated instruction, integrating English with other subjects, and pedagogical techniques to revitalize English teaching. The advanced course will include lesson observation, teaching demonstrations, and lesson plan discussions.
3. Target Audience: 20 current, officially employed, qualified English teachers from junior and elementary schools nationwide will be selected for each session.
4. Schedule:
(1) Junior High School Session
1. Introductory Course: July 27, 2020 (Monday) to July 31, 2020 (Friday).
2. Advanced Course: November 20, 2020 (Friday) to November 22, 2020 (Sunday).
(2) Elementary School Session
1. Introductory Course: August 3, 2020 (Monday) to August 7, 2020 (Friday).
2. Advanced Course: November 27, 2020 (Friday) to November 29, 2020 (Sunday).
5. Interested teachers should submit the application form, electronic copies of relevant materials, and an English self-introduction audio file to the project email address ntnu.eng.pd@gmail.com by 12:00 PM on June 14, 2020 (Sunday).
6. Participating English teachers must attend the entire workshop. Performance in the introductory course will be a reference for eligibility to participate in the advanced course. Teachers who complete the entire course will be awarded 48 hours of professional development credit. Those who do not attend the full course will not receive credit and their deposit will not be refunded.
