Dear Parents, Hello:
The winter break is approaching, and the Lunar New Year, a time for family reunions, is also near. During this warm holiday season, I wish you all an early Happy New Year and blessings for a peaceful and smooth new year!
This year's winter break is from January 19th (Saturday) to February 10th (Sunday), encompassing the Lunar New Year. Following this, we will begin the second semester of the 107 academic year. During the winter break, please cherish the parent-child interaction time with your children, provide them with diverse exploration opportunities, accompany them in sports, visit libraries, museums, and art galleries. Let's explore Taiwan's rich mountain and sea ecology together and experience the local customs and traditions. By going outdoors, let your children's learning extend freely during the holiday, and together, accompany them to connect textbook knowledge with the real world from a broad perspective. The "Maker Education and Technology Centers" established by the Ministry of Education in various counties and cities are also actively offering a variety of camp courses and activities, continuing to promote the integration of technology education with competency-based learning. Through lively and diverse interactive courses, we encourage children to explore the world through creative practice from a young age, and to develop abstract thinking, adaptability, and problem-solving skills. Children are welcome to participate!
The twelve-year basic education curriculum will be implemented in the 108 academic year. We hope to see more interdisciplinary integrated courses in primary and secondary school teaching environments, encouraging children to understand the wider world as their life experiences expand, and to learn to respect and appreciate different cultures and ethnicities, enhancing their international competitiveness and fostering global perspectives. Additionally, the Ministry is actively reforming curriculum and teaching, encouraging schools to implement revitalized and innovative teaching concepts and resources. Based on the spirit of holistic education, with the philosophy of "self-directed, interactive, and collaborative well-being," and the vision of "achieving every child—adapting to individual talents and lifelong learning," we aim to become a driving force for children's joyful learning and lay the foundation for every step of their growth. In the future, the Ministry of Education will continue to support the advancement and growth of schools and teachers, allowing every classroom to exhibit creative and vibrant learning styles and provide children with adaptive learning environments.
Finally, we remind you that the African Swine Fever epidemic has recently escalated. Please do not bring meat products into the country, avoid purchasing foreign pork products, and do not visit livestock farms. Let's work together to prevent the spread of African Swine Fever. At the same time, please also pay attention to your children's daily routines at home and their safety when going out, so that this winter break can be healthier and more fulfilling. We wish you and your children a wonderful winter break filled with happy memories.
Sincerely,
Happy New Year and Family Health
