Tens of thousands of years ago, humans created visual imagery in caves, using rock walls as easels to tell mysterious stories and imagine.
In the 20th century, modern people used the earth as a canvas or medium, giving various responses of artistic creation to nature and the environment.
The soul of nature seems to be constantly summoned and reminded by human thought and artistic actions, continuously exhibiting nature
and artificial new dialogues, shaping the indispensable landscape art in the contemporary art map.
2019The Taoyuan Land Art Festival constructs an exhibition platform for land art and international exchange with the imagination and creation of "New Scenery Lines".
How can humans conquer the framework of time and space from past experiences, re-read new concepts of humans and the environment,
and create a harmonious new landscape of nature, culture, and life? How can humans reverse the inevitable natural trend towards extremes
or the decay of historical buildings, protect the fleeting present, and advance into an unpredictable future? This international forum
will be inspired by the concept of transforming human-nature environmental symbiosis, inviting speakers from Asia to initiate dialogue opportunities, and separately
present or interpret different perspectives on landscape imagination, hoping to propose reflections and considerations on human-nature coexistence through exchange and inspiration.

This forum is divided into two major sub-themes:
Sub-theme
I) Art as the diverse lure / Art x Vitality x Interpretation
Focusing on the sharing of experiences and practical interpretations from different regions, how does the charm of art drive the natural and cultural construction of specific sites,
summoning the present that carries historical memories or the forgotten past. How does the contemporary art scene, under the horizontal axis of advancing time,
demonstrate the constructive power of integrating with local humanistic landscapes. While interpreting landscape art, the imagination, convergence, and practice of art is a forceful human intervention in nature or a gentle nourishment of the earth.
地景藝術的同時,是一種強行的人為介入自然或是溫婉的養分浸潤大地。
Sub-theme
II) Land as the ideal future / Landscape x Future x Creation
Exploring the new relationship between humans, the environment, and the land, how can the transformation of symbiosis and re-creation create a new ideal future
and construct
various flowing landscapes with new textures. While humans have revered nature for thousands of years, how can they sincerely gaze and reflect on their current living environment,
injecting more trust and care. How can art, architecture, and the environment depend on each other and move towards a beautiful harmony.
How can governments and communities bridge the gap between natural landscapes in remote areas and artificial buildings in cities, and work together
to create more possibilities for expansion.
