Announcement Compilation

To inform you that the Ministry of Education's National and Preschool Education Administration (hereinafter referred to as the National Education Administration) is organizing the second selection for new members of the 109th academic year's Central Curriculum and Teaching Guidance Consulting Teacher Team (hereinafter referred to as the Central Team).

Description:
I. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. 1090068521 dated June 12, 2020.
II. Matters related to the selection of new team members are detailed in the brochure (attached), with the following highlights:
(1) Eligibility: Teachers must be currently qualified teachers in elementary or junior high schools, with at least five years of teaching experience as a qualified teacher and at least three years of experience as a part-time counselor in a municipal/county/city counseling group, or at least two years of experience as a full-time counselor in a municipal/county/city counseling group. Those with special qualifications (e.g., power teachers) or conditions may have their years of service in municipal/county/city counseling groups shortened.
(2) Units that can recommend teachers to the Ministry of Education for the central team:
1. Education Bureaus (Departments) of Municipalities and Counties/Cities.
2. Ministry of Education's counseling groups for various fields/curricula/issues.
3. Current central team teachers.
(3) Selection criteria:
1. Professional competence for serving as a central team teacher (understanding and interpreting educational policies, problem awareness and diagnostic skills, instructional supervision and evaluation skills, teaching innovation and research capabilities, organizational management and leadership skills, etc.).
2. Subject-specific competence (subject knowledge, familiarity with curriculum design and materials, teaching methods, etc.).
3. Personal qualities (enthusiasm for service, willingness to engage with people, good communication skills, reflective, rational thinking, and teamwork, etc.).
(4) Recommendation method:
1. Recommendation period: From now until June 25, 2020 (Thursday). All recommendations must be submitted by mail.
2. The Ministry of Education will conduct a preliminary review to determine if the recommended personnel meet the basic qualifications. The results and subsequent selection matters will be announced on the "Ministry of Education National Elementary and Junior High School Curriculum and Teaching Resources Integration Platform" (CIRN) before June 30, 2020 (Tuesday).
(5) Important timeline for selection process:
1. Selection date: July 2, 2020 (Thursday) at Conference Room 16, 18th Floor, South Building, Central Joint Office Building (No. 5, Xuzhou Road, Zhongzheng District, Taipei City).
2. Announcement of results: The list of selected and reserve candidates will be announced on CIRN by July 15, 2020 (Wednesday), and the official list of selected candidates will be notified thereafter.
(6) To prevent teachers' participation in central team affairs from affecting school duties, please communicate with your school before applying. Applications will only be accepted after obtaining the principal's consent and confirmation that you will be exempt from homeroom teacher duties for the academic year.
(7) The Ministry of Education will appoint central team teachers based on the selection results and issue appointment letters. The appointment period is generally one academic year. The Ministry of Education may extend the appointment based on the performance of the central team teachers, with each extension being for one academic year. Furthermore, principals of schools where central team teachers serve will also receive commendations for outstanding performance during their service.
(8) The initial team meeting for the 2020 academic year will be held from August 10, 2020 (Monday) to August 14, 2020 (Friday) at the Sanxia Campus of the National Academy for Educational Research. New central team members must attend the entire session; failure to do so will result in disqualification for appointment.
III. The operation of the central curriculum and teaching consultation teacher team, as well as the rights, obligations, and evaluation of central team teachers, shall be handled in accordance with the "Key Points for the Establishment and Operation of the Ministry of Education's Central Curriculum and Teaching Consultation Teacher Team." Please refer to it for details.
