To inform you about the procedures for claiming mandatory leave subsidies for teachers in administrative positions in public schools at all levels in this city who pass away or contract injuries/illnesses during the academic year, making them unable to personally use the National Tourism Card (hereinafter referred to as the "Tourism Card") for purchases at designated merchants.

Explanation:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's letter No. 1090058167A dated June 8, 2020, and attached herewith is a copy of the original letter.
2. If teachers in administrative positions pass away or contract injuries/illnesses during the academic year, preventing them from personally using the Tourism Card for purchases at designated merchants to claim their leave subsidies, the following procedures will be followed to protect their rights and interests:
(1) For those who pass away during the academic year: The full amount of the mandatory leave subsidy that has not yet been claimed within the academic year shall be disbursed, without being subject to the subsidy standards for teachers in administrative positions in public elementary and secondary schools.
(2) For those who contract injuries or illnesses: In accordance with Article 5 of the Leave Improvement Measures, the total subsidy amount for the Tourism Card is relaxed to be entirely for personal use. If personal use is still difficult, the mandatory leave subsidy that has not yet been claimed within the academic year may be fully disbursed. The application process is as follows:
1. Eligible colleagues shall submit an application to the school with relevant medical certificates (limited to those issued by public hospitals and contracted hospitals under the National Health Insurance) and the school shall verify the applicant's injury or illness status based on the supporting documents. If it is confirmed that the individual is unable to personally use the Tourism Card for purchases at designated merchants and this is the first application, the case shall be reported to the Taoyuan City Government Department of Education for approval.
2. For cases approved by the Taoyuan City Government Department of Education, the school shall re-examine the situation in the following academic year. If it is determined that the reason for application still exists, the school shall manage the case until the reason for application ceases to exist. If the reason no longer exists, the case will revert to the subsidy standards for teachers in administrative positions in public elementary and secondary schools.
(3) Based on the principle of unity between civil servants and teachers, and considering that the Taoyuan City Government has relevant regulations for civil servants, please refer to the Taoyuan City Government's letter No. 1090109206 dated May 14, 2020, for all other regulations.
