Description:
1. In accordance with the National Academy for Educational Research's letter No. Jiao Yan Ke Zi Di 1091101295B dated July 16, 2020.
2. In accordance with the regulations of the National Languages Development Act, national languages are included as official curriculum subjects. In conjunction with the Ministry of Education's subsidy for the "Implementation of the National Languages Development Act - Indigenous Languages and Taiwanese Sign Language Curriculum Guidelines Revision Project," the National Academy for Educational Research has formed a revision team for "Indigenous Languages" and "Taiwanese Sign Language" curriculum guidelines. Based on the curriculum framework of the draft general guidelines, the revision work for the twelve-year basic education domain curriculum guidelines to include national languages as official curriculum subjects is being carried out. Public hearings and online forums will be held to further collect relevant revision opinions.
3. The schedule summary for the aforementioned online forum and public hearings is as follows:
(1) Online Forum: Scheduled from 9:00 AM on July 17, 2020 (Friday) to 5:00 PM on August 16, 2020 (Sunday), for a total of 31 days. Drafts of the four aforementioned documents and their comparison tables for amendments will be posted online, and opinions will be collected through the forum.
(2) Northern Region Public Hearing: To be held on August 16, 2020 (Sunday) from 9:30 AM to 12:00 PM (Morning Session: Indigenous Languages) and from 1:30 PM to 4:00 PM (Afternoon Session: Taiwanese Sign Language) at the 10th Floor International Conference Hall of the National Academy for Educational Research's Taipei Campus.
4. Registration for the Public Hearing: Registration is primarily online from now until 5:00 PM on July 28, 2020 (Tuesday). On-site registration is also available. Please register on the National Academy for Educational Research's webpage for the "Online Forum for Draft Curriculum Guidelines in Response to the National Languages Development Act" (http://12basic-forum.naer.edu.tw/). Download relevant materials for prior reading. If the meeting location is adjusted, the webpage announcement will prevail.
5. Attached is one copy of the "Implementation Plan for Public Hearings on Draft Curriculum Guidelines for Twelve-Year Basic Education in Response to the National Languages Development Act - Indigenous Languages (Min Nan, Hakka, Indigenous Languages) and Taiwanese Sign Language."
