Description:

I. The National Immigration Agency (NIA) of the Ministry of the Interior has outsourced the construction of an interpreter database (hereinafter referred to as the Database) since 2009, for use by relevant agencies and organizations to provide timely interpreter services for foreign nationals.

II. To deepen and expand the service functions of the Database, and to provide more real-time and accurate interpreter-related information, the system has undergone optimization. This includes real-time search and browsing, online matching notifications and message exchange, matching record inquiries, and various message announcements and reminders. Individuals can now apply to join the Database, and a satisfaction feedback and evaluation system has been designed. The aforementioned system (https://idb.immigration.gov.tw) was completed and launched on July 1, 2020. Additionally, an Interpreter Database APP (Android, iOS) has been developed and was also made available for mobile download on the same day. Please make full use of these resources.

III. If you require interpreter services, please submit a formal request to the NIA to apply for usage authorization. If you have trained personnel with relevant interpreter expertise, with the consent of the interpreter, please directly submit their names to be included in the Database.

IV. Furthermore, to expand interpreter effectiveness and improve the quality of interpreter services, the New Immigrants Development Fund of the Ministry of the Interior can also subsidize relevant interpreter training courses. Please promote and utilize this resource. In the future, any related interpreter training courses can also be announced on the Database to achieve resource sharing.
