The Hakka Affairs Council is organizing the "2021 Hakka Contribution Award." Nominations are now open until February 26, 2021 (Friday). We encourage enthusiastic recommendations.

Details:
1. In accordance with the Hakka Affairs Council's letter, Ref. No. 10960016801, dated December 25, 2020.
2. The Hakka Affairs Council has been presenting the "Hakka Contribution Award" since 2007, recognizing 72 outstanding Hakka individuals both domestically and internationally over 8 sessions.

The selection process for the Hakka Contribution Award has always involved rigorous and meticulous review meetings, with awardees chosen by consensus of the judging panel.
Recipients are exemplary role models for the Hakka community and the award is the most significant honor for Hakka people worldwide.
3. According to Article 3 of the "Hakka Affairs Council Hakka Contribution Award Regulations," the three award categories are "Lifetime Contribution Award," "Outstanding Achievement Award," and "Special Contribution Award."
Within the "Outstanding Achievement Award," in addition to the existing categories of "Research and Development," "Arts and Culture," and "Public Outreach,"

this (9th) session introduces the "Youth Contribution Category" to encourage young people to engage in Hakka affairs and recognize Hakka youth who have made outstanding contributions in the Hakka field.
The "Special Contribution Award" is for Hakka individuals who have made extraordinary contributions or achievements in national or international arenas, received prestigious honors, and whose accomplishments have elevated the overall prestige of the Hakka community and increased attention to Hakka culture and language.
In accordance with Article 4, Item 3, Sub-item 2 of the aforementioned regulations, the final review committee may establish or recommend additional candidates based on the annual nominations.
4. The "Lifetime Contribution Award" has a maximum of 2 recipients (nomination required to be eligible). Each recipient will be awarded a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of NT$1,000,000, making it one of the highest cash prizes for comparable awards in Taiwan.
The "Outstanding Achievement Award" typically has one to three recipients per category. The judging committee may increase the number of recipients based on the contributions of the nominated individuals or groups.
Each recipient will receive a trophy, a certificate, and a cash prize of NT$200,000.
The "Special Contribution Award" is an honorary award with a maximum of three recipients. Each recipient will receive a trophy and a certificate.
