To inform you about the leave regulations for personnel of various agencies (hereinafter referred to as "personnel") to care for their children during the extended Level 3 epidemic alert period, during which all senior high schools, elementary schools, and various educational institutions will suspend student attendance.
Explanation:
1. In accordance with the letter from the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration, Executive Yuan, dated June 30, 110 (2021), No. 1100025228, and attached is a copy of the original letter.
2. According to the Central Epidemic Command Center (hereinafter referred to as "the Command Center") announcement on June 23, 110 (2021), to ensure the health of the people, the national Level 3 epidemic alert will be maintained for another two weeks until July 12, 110 (2021). The Ministry of Education subsequently announced on the same day, in accordance with the Command Center's instructions, that during the Level 3 alert period, all students (children) are still required to stop attending after-school care centers, cram schools, and other educational institutions. Public and private kindergartens are to stop classes. This is for your information.
3. During the Level 3 epidemic alert period, if parents need to care for their children while schools and various educational institutions are suspended, they may apply for epidemic prevention care leave, as explained below:
(1) During the extended Level 3 alert period, if parents need to care for "children under 12 years of age" or "children with disabilities in junior high school, senior high school, or the first, second, and third years of vocational high school (five-year programs)," one of the parents may apply for epidemic prevention care leave.
(2) The aforementioned parents include biological parents, adoptive parents, legal guardians, or other individuals who are primarily responsible for the daily care of the child (e.g., grandparents).
4. For the leave regulations for personnel to care for their children due to the aforementioned reasons, please refer to the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration's letter dated February 27, 109 (2020), No. 1090027627. Furthermore, to simplify administrative procedures, for future situations such as delayed school openings or class suspensions due to epidemic prevention, please refer directly to the Directorate-General of Personnel Administration's letters dated February 5, 109 (2020), No. 1090025887, February 10, 109 (2020), No. 1090026271, and the aforementioned letter dated February 27, 109 (2020).
