In accordance with the amendment of certain articles of the Gender Equality in Employment Act, starting from January 18, 2022, "paternity leave" has been amended to "paternity check-up and paternity leave," and the duration has been increased from 5 days to 7 days.

In accordance with the amendment of certain articles of the Gender Equality in Employment Act (hereinafter referred to as the "Act"), effective January 18, 2022, "paternity leave" has been amended to "paternity check-up and paternity leave," and the duration has been extended from the original 5 days to 7 days.

Explanation:
1. In accordance with the Taoyuan City Government Personnel Department's submission to the Ministry of Personnel's letter dated January 20, 2022, Ref. No.
No. 1115419024, and attached are copies of the original letter (including attachments) each in one copy.

2. This case is forwarded by the Ministry of Personnel from the Ministry of Labor, stating that certain articles of the Act, which were amended and promulgated on January 12, 2022, and took effect on January 18, 2022, along with the amended articles of the Enforcement Rules of the Act on Article 7, Article 9, and Article 15, promulgated on the same day, and the interpretation of the provisions of Article 15, Paragraphs 4 and 5 of the Act; it is further noted that Article 2 of the Act stipulates:

In summary, effective January 18, 2022, if any relevant regulations for civil servants are inconsistent with the provisions of the Act and supplementary interpretations, agencies may directly handle them in accordance with the provisions of the Act before such regulations for civil servants are amended.
