To inform you about the selection and assignment of polling station staff for the 2022 local elections in Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City.
Details:
1. In accordance with the letter from the Taoyuan City Election Commission dated February 21, 2022, No. 1110000160.
2. The election is scheduled for Saturday, November 26, 2022. According to Articles 58 and 59 of the Public Officials Election and Recall Act, the chief administrator, chief supervisor, and more than half of the administrators at polling stations must be current civil servants or public school teachers. Therefore, we request current civil servants and public school teachers to actively serve as polling station staff in this district.
3. Furthermore, according to Article 60 of the Public Officials Election and Recall Act, polling station staff must attend training sessions organized by the Election Commission and are granted official leave for this purpose. The training sessions for polling station staff are scheduled for October 2022. Those who do not attend these training sessions will not be eligible to serve as election staff.
4. In accordance with the Executive Yuan's directive dated November 9, 1983, No. 72 Ren Zheng Can Zi 30519, election staff will be granted one day of compensatory leave. The remuneration for polling station staff will be paid according to the standards set forth in the "Schedule of Remuneration for Election Work" approved by the Executive Yuan's letter dated May 24, 2021, No. 1104000322. The remuneration is NT$3,400 for chief administrators, NT$2,800 for chief supervisors, NT$2,200 for administrators, NT$1,800 for supervisors, and NT$1,800 for reserve staff.
5. Colleagues who wish to participate in polling station work should complete the application form, obtain signatures from their unit supervisor, HR supervisor, and the head of their agency or school, and then submit it directly to the Taoyuan District Office via fax or email without a cover letter. For members of the public or university students, only their signature on the applicant's signature line is required. For group applications from public elementary and secondary schools in the district, the Taoyuan District Office will send out forms for schools to fill in after the polling station locations have been confirmed.
