| Explanation: |
| I. | In accordance with the letter from the Environmental Protection Bureau of this government dated March 14, 111 (2022), Document No. 1110020600. |
| II. | Encourage the general public to draw inspiration from Taoyuan's local environmental issues as the story background, cultivate correct environmental education concepts through environmental education picture book creation, and use the selected excellent picture books for future teaching. The aim is to enhance the development of the five major environmental education goals for Taoyuan citizens and students, including environmental awareness and sensitivity, environmental conceptual knowledge, environmental values and attitudes, environmental action skills, and environmental action experience, to inspire a love for their hometown and achieve the goal of jointly maintaining environmental sustainability. |
| III. | The content of the competition is briefly described as follows: |
| (1) | Eligibility: Anyone interested in creating environmental education picture books can participate. There are two groups: |
| 1. | General Creation Group: Anyone interested in creating environmental education picture books can participate. Works can be created independently or by a group, with a maximum of 5 people per submission. |
| 2. | Professional Demonstration Group: Please refer to the guidelines for specific eligibility. |
| (2) | Creative Direction: |
| 1. | General Creation Group: One or a combination of the following is acceptable. |
| (1) | Taoyuan's local characteristics and issues, or environmental education facilities and sites, to inspire readers' concern, understanding, and action towards Taoyuan, such as reservoir water source conservation, coastal ecological highlights, etc. |
| (2) | Combine Taoyuan's local characteristics with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) to inspire readers' concern, understanding, and action towards the environment. For detailed information, please refer to the Taoyuan SDGs website (https://www.tycg.gov.tw/sdgs_ch/index.jsp). |
| (3) | Focus on the theme of the circular economy to extend into picture book stories. |
| (4) | Use net-zero carbon emissions as creative inspiration to guide readers to pay attention to issues related to carbon reduction and greenhouse gases. | 2. | Professional Demonstration Group: Create characteristic picture book stories with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the main theme to inspire readers' understanding and action towards environmental sustainability. |
| (3) | Target Audience: Suitable for children in the third grade of elementary school and above, and for parent-child reading for children in the third grade of junior high school and below. |
| (4) | Submission Deadline: |
| 1. | General Creation Group Submission Deadline: From July 1, 111 (2022) to August 31, 111 (2022) (Wednesday). |
| 2. | The Professional Demonstration Group has two submission phases. The first phase is to submit the text content of the picture book story, from the date of announcement of the guidelines to May 31, 111 (2022) (Tuesday). Please send the text file to dingzetyee@gmail.com and confirm by phone. The review results will be announced before June 30, 111 (2022). After selection and revision according to the committee's opinions, the original manuscript and sample book, and other competition entries, should be submitted by August 31, 111 (2022) (Wednesday). |
