| 1. | Based on the email from the Secretariat of the Municipal Government dated March 15, 110 (2021). |
| 2. | Sister Cities International (SCI) was established to promote citizen diplomacy in the United States, build global partnerships between cities, and foster international development. Currently, SCI has 2,121 member cities and counties across 145 countries on six continents, with tens of thousands of citizen diplomats and volunteers involved, making it the largest citizen diplomacy organization globally. Our city joined in 109 (2020). |
| 3. | To recognize the outstanding activities organized by SCI members in 2021, the 2022 SCI Awards application is now open. Students can apply for the following award categories: |
| (1) | Volunteer of the Year |
| 1. | The Volunteer of the Year award aims to recognize individuals within sister cities who demonstrate exemplary leadership and talent. Their actions should significantly benefit local city initiatives, have a profound impact on society, and align with SCI's core values, including diverse collaboration and the promotion of peace. |
| 2. | Nominees must be 18 years of age or older. |
| (2) | Youth Leadership |
| 1. | The Youth Leadership award aims to recognize young individuals within sister cities who exhibit exemplary leadership and talent. These leaders and their talents should benefit local city initiatives, have a profound impact on society, and align with SCI's core values, including diverse collaboration and the promotion of peace. |
| 2. | Nominees must be under 18 years of age. |
| 4. | The award recipients will be announced at the SCI Annual Conference on July 8th of this year and will also be featured on the SCI website, social media, and other platforms. |
| 5. | Application method and deadline: Please apply by May 6, 2022, at https://sistercities.org/annualawards/2022-annual-awards. |
