Precautions for using UV disinfection lamps

Subject: Forwarding one copy of the "Guidelines for the Use of Ultraviolet Disinfection Lamps" produced by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection, Ministry of Economic Affairs, as detailed below. Please be informed.
Details:  
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education's Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter dated June 2, 111 (2022), Ref: Tai Jiao Guo Shu Xue Zi Di 1110067077.
2. Please strengthen the promotion in your school regarding the following precautions when using ultraviolet disinfection (sterilization) lamps:
(1) Read the product manual carefully before use and follow the instructions for operation.
(2) Avoid direct eye contact with the UV lamp tube or direct exposure of the skin.
(3) If the product is equipped with UV protective glasses, check that the glasses are intact before use and wear them correctly.
(4) Use in an environment free of people and moving/living things. Leave the disinfection area quickly after turning on the light to avoid UV radiation; set the timer function and do not enter the disinfection area until the timer has turned off.
(5) For handheld UV disinfection lamps (wands), do not point them at human skin or eyes during use.
(6) Avoid use by children or individuals who cannot understand the correct usage instructions.
(7) Do not use as a mosquito killer or for general lighting.
(8) If the UV disinfection (sterilization) lamp uses a low-pressure mercury lamp (which looks like a fluorescent lamp from the outside, but the glass tube is transparent) and is not labeled "ozone-free," ventilate for at least 30 minutes after disinfection before entering.
