| 1. | The Environmental Quality Protection Foundation was established in 1984. For over a decade, we have tirelessly promoted environmental education outreach activities. We have successively organized in-school services including Green Light, Green Forest, Green Water, Climate Adaptation, Forest Adaptation, Children's Rights and Environmental Sustainability, and Trees and Cities, reaching primary schools across Taiwan and its outlying islands, serving over 1,000 schools and impacting up to 100,000 person-times. |
| 2. | In 2012, "Enviro-News" was officially launched through the brainstorming of our staff, with the hope of engaging in dialogue and exchange with friends who care about the environment, embodying the spirit of embracing ideals, embracing the earth, embracing nature, and embracing the future. In May 2017, it was revamped to focus on the issue of "environmental law," ushering in a new era of legal thinking with "environment first, then law." |
| 3. | The August 2022 issue (No. 124) of "Enviro-News" features the following exciting content: |
| (1) | Law Can Make the Environment Better – Environment and Property Rights (I): The foundation of property lies in the establishment of various relationships, which are necessary for ordinary people to sustain their livelihoods and pursue development. Property is also an important foundation for the expansion and stability of modern capitalism, and one of the key indicators of social stability. While property has deep historical connotations, the distinction between public and private touches the nerves of law and politics. |
| (2) | A Drop in the Ocean – Environment and Equality: Truly equal law will not ignore the destructive disasters that may arise from the conflict between humans and nature, nor will it ignore environmental degradation and crises without responding with legal measures. Future cities on the path to sustainability must seek a balance between environmental sustainability and the creation of equality, creating more accessible health and well-being for more people. |
| (3) | The Fox and the Hedgehog – The Ambiguity of the Environment and the Uncertain Response of Law: The ambiguity of the environment foreshadows a diversity of responses. Whether good or bad depends on a certain awareness, which in turn is linked to various interconnected systems and developments. This complexity and cyclical nature can also be understood as the framework of environmental ambiguity, full of uncertain challenges. |
| (4) | Environmental Law Watch – Problems in the Forest System Unseen by Control Yuan Members: In early July, Control Yuan members Pu Chung-cheng and Tien Chiu-chin jointly proposed a censure against the Executive Yuan (No. 111 Cai Zheng 0008) and submitted an investigation report on "Illegal Logging in National Forests" (No. 111 Cai Diao 0024). While the Control Yuan members were well-intentioned, they did not delve deeply into how "the nation views forests?" |
| 4. | "Enviro-News" is the first excellent e-newsletter in Taiwan to focus on environmental and legal issues. It is published at the beginning of each month and consists of four sections: "We Only Have One Earth," "A Drop in the Ocean," "The Fox and the Hedgehog," and "Environmental Law Watch." We hope to guide the evolution from "human-centric law" to "nature-centric law," injecting new life into the sustainability of the rule of law. |
