| 2. | From mid-October to the end of February each year, migratory birds from the north travel south to avoid the cold. Xucuo Harbor Wetland serves as a crucial stopover point during their migration. Since June 105 (2016), it has been managed by the Construction and Planning Agency. In 109 (2020), the city government successfully restored and expanded the wetland area by 22 hectares using ecological engineering methods for balanced excavation and filling, providing a better feeding and resting environment for waterbirds, transforming it into a wetland paradise. As of the end of 110 (2021), bird species observation records have reached 241, with an average of 10,000 waterbirds visiting annually, a 2.3-fold increase compared to before the restoration. |
| 3. | To enhance the promotion of Xucuo Harbor as an important wetland and to promote environmental education about waterbird ecology, a series of activities called "2022 Welcome Back - Xucuo Harbor Wetland Bird Watching Festival" will be held from November 5 to November 20, 111 (2022). Every Saturday and Sunday, bird watching explanations will be provided at the bird watching pavilion at the mouth of the Laojie River and at the Giant Enterprise Umbrella Cultural and Creative Park. There will also be a "Welcome Back" special exhibition, interactive games, storytelling experiences, and DIY workshops.
