| Subject: | Forwarding the revised "Self-Health Management Guidelines" by the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) for Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens (hereinafter referred to as the Command Center), please acknowledge. |
| Explanation: |
| I. | In accordance with the letter from the Department of Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, dated February 13, 112 (2023), Ref: Tai Jiao Guo Shu Xue Zi No. 1120017932. |
| II. | Recently, the international epidemic situation has eased, and no new threatening variants have been detected. To align with the steady relaxation of border control and community epidemic prevention measures, the Command Center has adjusted the self-health management guidelines, which will be implemented from February 7, 112 (2023). The key revisions are as follows: |
| (1) | Regarding the timing of testing, it has been adjusted to "rest at the self-health management location when symptomatic and perform a rapid antigen test using a rapid test kit," and the section "perform a rapid antigen test using a rapid test kit on the day of arrival, the first day of self-health management, or the day of being identified as a close contact" has been removed. |
| (2) | Regarding precautions for going out, the section "a negative rapid test result within 2 days is required for going out" has been removed. |
| III. | Furthermore, based on the fact that symptomatic travelers can voluntarily seek testing from quarantine personnel at ports of entry by the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) under the Ministry of Health and Welfare when necessary, and that rapid antigen test kits are widely available through various channels in Taiwan, making them convenient for the public to purchase, the number of rapid antigen test kits that inbound travelers can freely receive at ports of entry has been adjusted from 4 kits to 1 kit starting from February 7, 112 (2023) (based on the flight's scheduled arrival time in Taiwan). Close contacts of confirmed cases will also be issued 1 kit starting from February 7, 112 (2023) (the start date of the confirmed case's isolation). |
| IV. | The attached document can also be found on the homepage of the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control (CDC) (https://www.cdc.gov.tw/) > Infectious Disease and Epidemic Prevention Topics > Infectious Disease Introduction > Category 5 Notifiable Infectious Diseases > Severe Pneumonia with Novel Pathogens > Self-Health Management > COVID-19 Public Precautions for reference and use. |
