School Electrical Safety Precautions
After work, computers and various office equipment in school offices should be properly turned off or set to energy-saving mode. Also, turn off non-essential electrical appliances such as office lights, desk lamps, fans, and power strips to maintain electrical safety.
If extension cords are needed, choose ones of appropriate length. Do not concentrate multiple electrical devices on a single extension cord for power supply. Use extension cords with overload automatic power-off function, and do not bundle them. Also, do not place them near high-temperature objects (like boilers) and avoid high-temperature environments such as fire sources. Additionally, they should have overload automatic power-off function and avoid increased current load leading to the melting of the outer plastic, causing short circuits and fires during use.
Large power-consuming equipment such as ovens and water heaters should have their plugs directly inserted into the established sockets. Avoid using extension cords to prevent overload.
Frequently inspect electrical cords and extension cords in use. Replace old, dirty, or dusty ones immediately. Do not use them in humid environments. Do not place electrical cords or extension cords in use where they can be easily worn or crushed. Unplug electrical equipment that is not used for a long time.
If sockets are loose, dusty, or if the socket holes show verdigris, indicating internal oxidation and rust, they need to be replaced promptly.
Do not buy or use appliances without a safety mark: Choose appliances that have passed inspection by the Bureau of Standards, Metrology and Inspection and are affixed with the "Commodity Inspection Mark." Read the instruction manual carefully and maintain them properly.
