| 2. | This competition aims to respond to Article 42, Paragraph 5 of the "Climate Change Response Act," which states: "Promote sustainability-oriented climate change education at all levels of schooling, cultivate teachers, develop and compile teaching materials, and foster future interdisciplinary talent for climate change response." It also aligns with Taiwan's 2050 net-zero emissions pathway by encouraging the design of lesson plans that are not limited by traditional frameworks or topics, thereby enhancing the climate change teaching capabilities of high school, junior high, and elementary school teachers in Taiwan. |
| 3. | The theme of this competition is "Fully Responding to Climate Change to Achieve Net-Zero Emissions by 2050." Please design a single lesson plan with this as the core concept, integrating the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and balancing economic, social, and environmental aspects to align with the objective of sustainability-oriented development. |
| 4. | Information regarding the competition schedule, eligibility, and submission methods is as follows: |
| (1) | Registration Method: All registrations for this competition must be completed online at https://reurl.cc/LNOo29. Upon successful registration, you will receive an email notification. For detailed instructions, please refer to the competition guidelines (attached). |
| (2) | Registration Deadline: From now until May 30, 2023 (Tuesday) at 23:59. |
| (3) | Submission Format: There is no limit to the number of entries per school. Submissions can be completed individually or collaboratively. Each participating team should submit one teaching lesson plan with "Climate Change" as the core theme. Please refer to the competition guidelines for detailed formatting requirements. |
| (4) | Participant Limit per Submission: Each teacher may participate in the creation of a maximum of 2 submissions. Each submission is limited to a team of 3 participants (participants cannot be changed after confirmation). |
| (5) | Submission Deadline for Works: From now until July 31, 2023 (Monday) at 23:59. |
| (6) | Eligibility: All currently employed teachers in public senior high schools, junior high schools, elementary schools, or registered private middle and elementary schools nationwide. |
| 5. | Judging Criteria and Awards: |
| (1) | Relevance to "Climate Change Response" and "2050 Net-Zero Emissions Strategy" (40%), accuracy of knowledge content (scientific knowledge, contextual knowledge, issue knowledge, etc.) (15%), interdisciplinary integration and feasibility of teaching execution of the lesson plan (20%), measurability of teaching outcomes (20%), and other creativity (5%), totaling 100%. |
| (2) | Awards: Awards will be given to participating teams. The top three teams will receive NT$30,000, NT$15,000, and NT$10,000 respectively. An additional honorable mention team will receive NT$5,000. The final award list will be decided by the review committee, and awards may not be given if no suitable entries are found. |
| (3) | Announcement Platform and Date for Award Results: The competition results will be announced on August 31, 2023 (Thursday) on the Ministry of Education Climate Change Education Information Platform (https://climatechange.tw/). |
| (4) | Award Ceremony Date and Location: October 22, 2023 (Sunday) at the venue of the "2023 Taiwan Climate Action Expo." |
