Subject: To inform that the Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare, has produced multi-language versions of monkeypox prevention and health education leaflets. We kindly request your school/kindergarten to assist in widely promoting them through various channels. Please be informed.
Explanation:
1. In accordance with the Ministry of Education, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education's letter No. 1120076062 dated June 8, 112 (Republic of China calendar).
2. As of June 7, 112 (Republic of China calendar), the Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare, has announced a cumulative total of 149 confirmed monkeypox cases in the country (137 local and 12 imported).
3. Considering the gradual easing of border quarantine policies in various countries and the monkeypox virus incubation period of up to 21 days, the risk of public infection has increased. To enhance public knowledge and risk awareness regarding prevention, the CDC has produced two multi-language versions (including Chinese, English, Indonesian, Vietnamese, and Thai) of health education leaflets titled "Pay Attention to Monkeypox: Here's What You Should Do!" and "Monkeypox: What You Need to Know." Your school/kindergarten can directly access and download them from the CDC website/Monkeypox Special Zone/Promotional Materials (URL: https://gov.tw/h3f) and assist in widely promoting them through various channels.
4. The CDC reminds the public that monkeypox transmission is limited and the current outbreak is primarily through close personal contact. It is advised that the public take proper protective measures when traveling to endemic areas or high-risk locations within the country, and avoid social activities in risky areas where close contact with unspecified individuals may occur. If skin lesions such as rashes, blisters, macules, papules, or pustules appear, along with symptoms like fever, chills, headache, muscle pain, back pain, joint pain, or swollen lymph nodes (e.g., around the ears, armpits, neck, or groin), seek medical attention promptly while wearing a mask, and actively inform the doctor about your travel history, exposure history in high-risk areas, and contact history. Information on monkeypox vaccination can be found on the CDC's official website/Monkeypox Special Zone/Monkeypox Vaccine/Third Phase Monkeypox Vaccination Partner Hospitals (URL: https://gov.tw/3SG ).
