Explanation:

In accordance with the letter from the Taoyuan City Government Environmental Protection Bureau dated July 24, 2023 (Document No. 1120063807) and the letter from the Environmental Protection Administration dated July 17, 2023 (Document No. 1121081126D).

Given that Taiwanese travelers frequently use single-use toiletries and personal hygiene products, the main body, containers, or packaging of which are often made of plastic. The resulting plastic pollution or waste enters marine and terrestrial water bodies, is ingested by organisms, or decomposes into plastic fragments that absorb harmful substances. This accumulates through the food chain, leading to more severe ecological and environmental pollution problems. Therefore, the Environmental Protection Administration has implemented controls on single-use plastic accommodation supplies. Accommodation providers and other lodging businesses are prohibited from offering liquid toiletries and care products with a capacity of less than 180 milliliters, nor are they allowed to display personal hygiene products for consumers to freely take in their business premises. The aforementioned regulations will take effect on January 1, 2025.
