Details:
1. "Everyone has a Doraemon in their heart!" Regardless of age, people have different imaginations and expectations for Doraemon. This world-famous cat-type robot has inspired the dreams of many people in Japan and around the world. With this as an opportunity, "THE Doraemon Exhibition" was born! The exhibition invites 28 renowned contemporary Japanese artists to create brand new Doraemon works in their unique styles, all themed around "Doraemon in My Heart."
2. This includes internationally acclaimed artists such as Takashi Murakami, Yoshitomo Nara, and Mika Ninagawa, as well as many popular emerging Japanese artists. For example, Takashi Murakami's "It's a Wonderful Thing, Even Better If It Comes True" in the exhibition's main visual combines his representative works "Flowers" and "Doraemon." In a massive painting 3 meters high and 6 meters wide, they coexist harmoniously, with colorful flowers containing many famous manga scenes. Yoshitomo Nara's Dorami incorporates his unique artistic style. Mika Ninagawa's work, themed around a one-day date with Doraemon, showcases a different facet of Doraemon. The exhibition features not only stunning paintings and photographic works but also mixed media, video, and three-dimensional installations. For instance, Sebastian Masuda's "Ultimate Weapon" uses colorful materials collected from around the world to create a giant Doraemon, simultaneously presenting diverse colors from different regions. There is also a giant beautiful girl Shizuka, over 3 meters tall, inspired by the movie "Doraemon the Movie: Nobita's Little Star Wars," and a 5-meter-tall work using leather patchwork, depicting the primitive appearance of Shizuka and her friends in a cave.
3. Students can engage with artistic works across various media, such as paintings, photography, video, mixed media, and installations, through familiar classic characters. Through the visual expressions of the artists, students can re-examine Doraemon from different perspectives, while also expanding their understanding and appreciation of contemporary art.
