1. About Yuko Higuchi: You can't afford to miss her! She is a super popular painter and artist who has even collaborated with GUCCI. Based in Tokyo, she continues to create, often featuring cats, birds, mushrooms, and other flora and fauna as themes. Her style combines vintage color palettes, blending reality and fantasy to create captivating works full of whimsical colors and a unique charm that keeps you coming back for more. She has published picture books such as the "Cat" series: "The Best Cat in the World," "We Are All Unique," "The Unwanted Cat," "Perhaps Sad Things Aren't Necessarily Bad," "The Cat Who Opened a Bookstore," "Every Encounter Has Its Meaning," the small yet emotionally rich picture and text collection "Little Love Letters," the mischievous and lovable character story "GUSTAVE," and her warm debut picture book "The Lost Cat," among other classic works. Her gentle and delicate brushstrokes have healed many hearts.
2. Yuko Higuchi's first overseas large-scale solo exhibition is coming to Taiwan! The exhibition will feature nearly a thousand selected works, including picture book creations, poster designs, and collaborations, with classic painting manuscripts fully presented. You can deeply appreciate the classic works from her many years of creative career, as well as exquisite and lifelike felt dolls created by her long-time collaborator, puppet artist Masayo Imai, and Taiwan-exclusive photo opportunities, all leading Taiwanese audiences into a fantastical world of imagination.
3. Artist Yuko Higuchi has specially created a unique theme, "Fantasy Animal Forest," for the Taiwan exhibition. She has incorporated impressions of plants that grow in Taiwan's unique climate, the character of Taiwanese people, and traditional Taiwanese floral patterns into the main visual design and limited ticket designs. The exhibition will allow students to understand the commonalities between different cultures and to comprehend the cultural exchange and connection between Japan and Taiwan through art. Yuko Higuchi's creative and imaginative style can inspire students' creativity and cultivate their artistic appreciation skills, teaching them how to evaluate artworks, understand the artist's techniques and artistic style, as well as the meaning and emotions behind the artworks.
