| 1. | In accordance with the Bureau's letter of September 22, 2023, No. 1120095248. |
| 2. | To promote the internationalization of education in our city, cultivate students' global perspectives, encourage teachers to use English for instruction, and improve students' English learning outcomes. This program is specifically designed to inspire students' interest in learning English and enhance their listening and speaking skills through English instruction by English teachers. |
| 3. | The main points of this program are as follows; please refer to the attachment for details: |
| (1) | Eligibility: English teachers in public junior high schools in our city. |
| (2) | Implementation Period: From now until July 1, 2024. |
| (3) | Implementation Methods: |
| 1. | English teachers must submit an application form for English Instruction in English and Public Lectures (Attachment 3) to their school, along with a teacher self-assessment form (Attachment 1) and a public lecture record form (Attachment 2). Each school will review whether teachers are implementing English instruction according to the curriculum plan. By July 1, 2024 (Monday), schools must consolidate the school's integrated application form for awards (Attachment 4), the English teaching lesson plans of the applying teachers, and a CD of one lecture video, along with Attachments 1 to 3, and submit them directly to Ms. Zheng Xiaohui of the City English Guidance Group (Wenchang Junior High School: No. 729 Minsheng Road, Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City 330) for application and review. |
| 2. | English teachers in each school who use English as the classroom language or achieve over 70% English instruction (i.e., at least 32 minutes of a 45-minute class are taught in English) for at least 4 sessions per semester and conduct 1 public lecture will receive a commendation. If they implement it for 10 or more sessions per semester, conduct 1 public lecture, and the submitted lecture video is reviewed as excellent by the Bureau, each person will receive a NT$1,000 gift card and a commendation. Additionally, in accordance with Article 7 of the "Implementation Guidelines for Awards and Commendations for Personnel in Taoyuan City Government Affiliated Agencies and Schools," the award of gift certificates or items is limited to no more than 20% of the total number of participants in the overall evaluation for individual awards. |
| 4. | For outstanding performance by staff involved in the program, in accordance with the "Regulations on Performance Evaluation of Principals in Public Secondary and Elementary Schools," the "Regulations on Performance Evaluation of Teachers in Public Secondary and Elementary Schools," and the "Taoyuan City Regulations on Awards and Commendations for Faculty and Staff of Municipal Schools and Kindergartens," each applying school may nominate 2 individuals, each of whom will receive a commendation, to be awarded accordingly as recognition for their hard work. |
