The Taoyuan City Government Education Bureau, in order to estimate the number of public school faculty and staff retiring in 2025 and the required retirement and severance funds, requests that faculty and staff members of this school who plan to retire in 2025 register with the Human Resources Office by the deadline of February 29, 2024.

★ According to the Civil Service Retirement Act and the Teachers and Staff Retirement Act, individuals who have served for more than 5 years and are either 60 years old or have completed 25 years of service are eligible for voluntary retirement.

★ Article 21 of the "Act Governing Retirement, Severance, and Pensions for Teachers and Staff of Public Schools" stipulates that for teachers or principals applying for retirement, the effective date of retirement shall be February 1st or August 1st, unless there are special circumstances. However, to ensure the learning and educational rights of students in this city and the normal operation of school affairs, teachers are requested to apply for retirement with an effective date of August 1, 2025, as a general principle.

★ Civil servants who wish to choose to receive a monthly pension (or a combination of lump sum and monthly pension) for retirement in 2025 must have a combined total of years of service and age of 89 or more, and be at least 55 years old. Educational personnel must have a combined total of 83 or more, and be at least 50 years old. However, faculty and staff who met the legal requirements for receiving a monthly pension before the implementation of the Teachers and Staff Retirement Act may choose to receive their pension benefits as stipulated in Article 27, Paragraph 1, without being subject to the age restrictions for receiving a monthly pension, in accordance with Article 18.
