| I. | According to a press release from the Taiwan Centers for Disease Control, Ministry of Health and Welfare, dated March 22, 2024, most domestic cases with complications and deaths had not been vaccinated with the XBB vaccine. Vaccination with the XBB vaccine can effectively enhance immune protection against current dominant variants, reducing the risk of severe illness or death. We remind the public not to underestimate the threat of the epidemic. Past infection with COVID-19, or vaccination with the original strain or bivalent vaccine, no longer provides sufficient immunity for this wave of the epidemic. It is recommended that all children, adolescents, and adults aged 6 months and older receive an additional COVID-19 XBB vaccine to boost their protection and safeguard their health. |
