Taoyuan City 113 Academic Year Student Music Competition Implementation Guidelines

Subject: Attached is the Implementation Guidelines for the 113th Academic Year Student Music Competition in Taoyuan City. Please announce and inform accordingly. Thank you.
Details:  
1. Based on the minutes of the first preparatory meeting for the 113th Academic Year Student Music Competition and Teacher-Student Folk Song Competition in this city.
2. To provide a stage for students in this city to showcase their musical talents and promote the advanced development of music education, key matters of the aforementioned competition are summarized as follows:
(1) Competition Categories:
1. Added "Elementary School Group A, Elementary School Group B" to the viola solo category in the 113th Academic Year Student Music Competition of this city.
2. In addition to the national competition categories, following the usual practice, 13 non-national competition categories are added, including string instruments, piano, Chinese string instruments, and vocal music. Including the previously added categories, there are a total of 106 categories (details in the Implementation Guidelines for the 113th Academic Year Student Music Competition of this city). The added categories are not related to the qualification for representing this city in the 113th Academic Year National Student Music Competition.
(2) Competition Dates (competition dates will be adjusted based on the actual number of registered teams):
1. Individual competitions, small group competitions (recorder ensemble, harmonica ensemble, harmonica quartet, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, piano trio, piano quintet, string quartet, string ensemble, and choir, etc.): October 15, 2024 (Tuesday) to November 22, 2024 (Friday).
2. Large group competitions (percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestral ensemble, children's band, Chinese orchestra ensemble, marching band, and silk and bamboo chamber music): December 3, 2024 (Tuesday) to December 12, 2024 (Thursday).
(3) Competition Venue:
1. Individual competitions, small group competitions (recorder ensemble, harmonica ensemble, harmonica quartet, brass quintet, woodwind quintet, piano trio, piano quintet, string quartet, string ensemble, and choir, etc.): Taoyuan Hakka Culture Hall Performance Hall.
2. Large group competitions (percussion ensemble, wind ensemble, orchestral ensemble, children's band, Chinese orchestra ensemble, and silk and bamboo chamber music): Liuhe Senior High School, Taoyuan City.
3. Group competition (marching band): Renhe Junior High School, Taoyuan City.
(4) Registration Period: From September 2, 2024 (Monday) to September 9, 2024 (Monday) (postmark date applies, late submissions will not be accepted).
(5) Registration Method: All registrations must be completed online (http://163.30.153.4/Index/index.asp). After online registration, please print the official registration form, get it stamped, and mail the original via registered express mail to complete the registration process (please indicate "Music Competition Registration" on the envelope). Each registration form is for a single competition category.
(6) Drawing for Performance Order and Set Pieces: October 3, 2024 (Thursday) at 2:00 PM at Ximen Elementary School, Taoyuan District, Taoyuan City.
(7) Team Leader Meeting for Group Competitions:
1. Hakka Culture Hall Section: November 1, 2024 (Friday) at 2:00 PM in the Audio-Visual Briefing Room of the Hakka Culture Hall.
2. Liuhe Senior High School Section: December 2, 2024 (Monday) at 2:00 PM in the Activity Center of Liuhe Senior High School.
(8) The check-in time for the morning session at Liuhe Senior High School has been revised to 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM.
3. Based on the Implementation Guidelines for the 113th Academic Year National Student Music Competition, the Implementation Guidelines for the 113th Academic Year Student Music Competition in this city (hereinafter referred to as the "City Music Competition Guidelines") have been revised. Key points are summarized as follows:
(1) For the marching band category in group competitions, the method of counting participating students has been revised to "include participating students and the conductor who is also a student." (City Music Competition Guidelines, page 4).
(2) For the harmonica solo category in individual competitions, chromatic harmonicas may be used for the self-selected piece. (City Music Competition Guidelines, page 6).
(3) Regarding the verification methods for participants in group and individual competitions, in addition to the original regulations, it is now added that "verification can also be done using a digital student ID or a student identification page with a photo obtained by logging into the student status system." (City Music Competition Guidelines, page 14).
(4) The regulations regarding recording and filming at the venue have been revised to state that only the performances of the participating team(s) are allowed to be recorded or filmed. Performances of other participating teams are not permitted... and copyright laws and civil personal rights (portrait rights) must be observed... If the audio-visual materials recorded by participating teams are to be publicly released or uploaded to video platforms, the aforementioned relevant laws and regulations must be complied with before doing so. (City Music Competition Guidelines, page 15).
(5) The measures for handling disruptive behavior that affects quietness in the venue have been revised to state that... the following behaviors are prohibited. If advised and not complied with, the competition organizers may ask the individuals to leave: 1. Children under six years of age entering the venue. 2. Talking or making phone calls using electronic communication devices. 3. Bringing pets. 4. Entering or leaving the audience area or moving around in the audience seats during a performance. 5. Other behaviors that may affect quietness. (City Music Competition Guidelines, page 15).
(6) Revised emergency response regulations: In case of major incidents such as earthquakes or fires during the competition, the on-site supervisor and chief judge will make decisions based on the actual situation and local conditions. In the event of an epidemic, this competition will adjust its epidemic prevention measures and regulations at any time in accordance with the epidemic level and prevention measures issued by the relevant authorities.
